3DS Circle Pad Pro comes to Europe in January, still no US date

Shares

We’ve accepted that the 3DS has an add-on for a second thumbstick called the Circle Pad Pro, we just wish Nintendo of America would admit it’s coming here. First announced in Japan to the befuddled internet, the Circle Pad has been treated with mystery outside of Japan. Now at least one other area of Nintendo has something concrete, and the European branch of the N says the add-on comes out January 27.

Planned for a late December release in Japan, the Circle Pad Pro’s late January European debut coincides with the launch of Resident Evil Revelations. The Capcom title is compatible with the second stick and the two will come bundled together, though you can also buy the Circle Pad separately. Nintendo’s US team has yet to confirm if anything similar is happening here, though RE Revelations is going to be $50, which is $10 more than the standard 3DS game. Perhaps there’s a bundle on the horizon here after all. Resident Evil Revelations comes out February 7 in the US.

To ascend, slide the circle pad down. To DESCEND, slide the circle pad up...

so...hideous I'm with Psylockerules. Just wait until it's integrated with the actual handheld.

Such an ugly addon. I don't understand why Nintendo is keeping up this dual screen design. I'd rather have a fuller sized portable like the PSP. A single but larger screen that I could play 3D games on and not need a silly addon which defeats any purpose of having a smaller unit to make it more portable. There aren't many games that really make use of the dual screens.

I'm still hoping for a third party version that lets me keep my battery that actually works well.

I want to get one for KH3D. After the hands on with it I feel like it is less of a monstrosity. Even if it looks odd I will just space it out when I play the game.
