Ladies and gentleman, quick time events have officially gone next gen. But The Order 1886 at least gives them a unique twist with branching QTEs. For instance, there was a scene in which one of the characters was grappling with a human enemy on the ground. As the cinematic sequence played out, the demo driver was prompted to pick up a nearby knife--which he did right before jabbing it into the throat of the enemy. Had he not picked up the knife, I was told, the QTE would've played out differently, though I didn't get to see this in action.
The Order 1886 also has several interactive cutscenes. During one scene, Galahad opened a weapon crate to pick up the new gun inside of it. As soon as he picked it up, the player was able to rotate the gun around to examine it during the cutscene. After he was done, the rest of the scene continued. A small thing, to be sure, but it added some interaction to what are usually passive events.
