The Lord of the Rings: War in the North was announced yesterday, and the only thing we knew about it then was that it's a multiplayer action-RPG, has co-op play for up to three players and is coming out sometime next year for 360, PS3, and PC. Well, thank God publisher Warner Bros released a teaser today, so now we know a whole lot more of, well, nothing.
Though the clips are stunning, what with the stabbing, the slashing and the splattering of blood, there’s still no gameplay or further info. What we do get is a tantalizing tease at the video's end: A troll menaces the player, but his killing blow is interrupted by what looks very much like a massive eagle (Great Eagle, if you're a LOTR purist) swooping in, talons spread wide. Hope that’s enough to make you care for a few months while WB calculates what not to tell us next. Our money’s on E3 2010 – expect a whole lot more then.
