- When you boot up the game for the first time, it will check to see if you
have a save file from Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2003. If so, it will give you a
bonus sponsorship from the start. For me it was a Ping Sponsorship with a
$50,000 signing bonus and $500 per item worn. To see what this means, see the
sponsorship section below.
     - Tiger Woods 2002 and 2001 save files will not count.
     - Other EA Sports Titles from 2003 will not give you a sponsorship, but
will give you a cash bonus.
     - You can reject the bonus if you want to start from scratch.
     - I haven't played any other EA 2004 titles, so I'm not sure what happens
when you boot up after having played Madden 2004 or some other title.
     - According to 'jurell' from IGN.com message boards, EA 2004 save titles
like Madden 04 give you extra cash. He also says that EA 2002 titles
of any type will not count. Thanks 'jurell'!

- After you see the introductory movies, press the start button to move to the
menu. In order to do anything, you'll have to create your golfer first. This
mode is the single biggest improvement (or change - whatever your opinion) to
the game. See the "Create a Golfer" chapter below on how to do this.

- Once you've done this, I recommend you create your "EA Bio". This is the
first year they've done this. If you've already played Madden 2004 or NCAA
Football 2004, you probably have already done this.
     - To do this, go to "My Tour". Click on your golfer's name. The first
option that comes up is the "EA Bio". Click on it. It will give you
a warning on the save file size, and create it for you once you click
       "OK".
     - The EA Bio will track your playing time and the 2004 EA Games that you
play. This will unlock certain items in the pro shop when you reach a
       certain EA Bio level.
     - You'll need to save your EA Bio every time you quit the game to ensure
you get credit. You do this by going to "My Tour" again, clicking on
the bio, and pressing the save button.

- After that, it's up to you which mode you do next. See the chapters below
for help!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 3) GAME MODES

A) Scenarios
- These are 30 "challenging" pre-set scenarios that have a pre-set score you
need to achieve. Based on your score, you get a Bronze, Silver, or Gold medal.
Getting all 30 Gold medals is not easy! Good luck! See Chapter 4 for more
details on the scenarios.
- You get one scenario right off the bat when you create your golfer. It's the
tutorial on how to play called "Tour Card". One free gold medal basically!

B) World Tour Mode
- This is the mode that used to be called Tiger Challenge in Tiger Woods 2002
and 2003. I think they've done a good job of cleaning this up this year. It
gives you lots of flexibility on what you want to do next.
- This is match play against various fantasy and real pro golfers.
- The one "fault" in this year's mode is that the Tour Cards are not directly
tied to your progress as they were in the past.
- See Chapter 5 below for more details.

C) PGA Tour Season Mode
- A much improved full PGA Tour Season that you can play with your created
golfer. Each tournament is a 4 day Thursday through Sunday event like the real
tour. There are still simulated features to this, such as having a tournament
at more than one course, but it's really neat.
- See Chapter 6 below for more details.

D) Arcade Modes
- This is the "fun" stuff. Mostly good for multiplayer fun. There are 4 types
including "SkillZone", "Battle Golf", "Speed Golf", and "Long Drive Shootout"
modes.
- See Chapter 7 below for more details.

E) Real Time Events
- Possibly one of the coolest features, there are events scheduled to occur on
certain dates based on the internal clock of your system. For example, every
full moon, there's a special event that you can win. The prizes are usually
unlocked items in the pro shop, in addition to cash.
- See Chapter 8 below for more details.

F) Traditional Games
- This is where the multiplayer is at, as well as "normal" golf if you just
want to hack around for a while without worrying about a tournament or a World
Tour mode.
- 8 Modes: stroke, match, skins, practice, stableford, alternate shot, best
ball, and fourball.
- See Chapter 9 below for more details.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 4) SCENARIOS

Notes:
1) Scenarios are preset modes. Trophy Balls, Records, Longest Drives, Eagles
and everything else DO NOT COUNT while doing scenarios.

2) You only have to get all 30 bronze medals (actually 29 bronze and the 1
automatic gold medal) in order to get the scenario completion trophy ball.

3) Gold Medals do unlock items in the pro shop though, so you do eventually
need to get all gold medals to complete everything in the game.

4) Scenarios can be played in any order. The tougher ones tend to be towards
the bottom of the list.

5) My recommendation: finish the World Tour first, build up your character,
then do the scenarios. It's alot easier to do some of these with a built up
character.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 5) WORLD TOUR MODE

- Notes:

1) Match play format - scoring works hole by hole. If you win the hole you go
"1 UP". If you lose the hole, you go "1 DOWN". Play continues to the end of
the course or until a player is mathematically eliminated. On the final hole
before mathematical elimination, the player is considered "DORMIE." That means
you have to win all the remaining holes to force a playoff. If you do not,
the match ends. The final tally is scored as "X & Y". The X stands for how
many holes up you were. The Y stands for how many holes you did not have to
play. On an 18 hole course, the best score you can get is a "10 & 8".

2) Round 1 is always the front 9 holes of a course instead of 18.

3) The compilation courses are just random holes from the previous three
courses in that region.

4) Tiger's Dream 18 is a compilation course. It is NOT Penguin Falls. Penguin
Falls was in Tiger Woods 2002 as Tiger's Dream 18. In Tiger Woods 2003, they
left that course out. They returned it this year as it's own course.

5) Trophy Balls can be earned here, as well as records made. Any eagles you
make count towards your Eagle Hunt. Some trophy balls cannot be earned in the
World Tour, such as Birdie Streak, Birdie Buster, Back to Back Eagles, Low
Round, and a few others. Each hole is played independently of each other.

6) When you win a match, you a) win cash, b) you unlock the golfer you played,
c) you sometimes unlock one of the holes on Tiger's Dream 18, and d) you some-
times unlock certain courses in the game (based on your earnings - see Chapter
11 for the earnings needed to unlock each course).
     - The prizes I've listed below I can only guarantee if you follow the
World Tour "in order". The correct order is to do round 1 through each
region in numbered order. Then you do round 2 through each region in
     numbered order.

7) The rounds without prizes listed are ones I haven't confirmed again yet.
Since I didn't write all this down the first time I went throug the game, I'm
having to play through again and write down the prizes.

Chapter 6) PGA TOUR SEASON MODE

Notes:
1) Tournaments are like they are in real life: Thursday through Sunday, 4
rounds each.

2) These are stroke play, meaning that your score is tallied for each hole and
made cumulative through the round.

3) Your under par (or over par if you're struggling) score is cumulative
through the tournament for leader board purposes. For example, you may be 10
under for the round, but 40 under for the tournament.

4) All trophy balls, records, eagles, etc. count here. This is where you "make
your money" so to speak.

5) Sponsorships only count here! This is also where you "make your money". See
Chapter 21 for more details on sponsorships.

6) Many of the Tracking Tiger Trophy Balls are based around your tour stats,
results, and the like. See the Tracking Tiger section in Chapter 17 for more
details.

7) Each tournament starts with the pins in "Easy" location on Day 1, on Day 2
they're in the "Medium" location, on Day 3 "Hard", and on Day 4 "Expert".

8) Each tournament tees off from the black tees "Hard".

9) The purse is cumulative - meaning that the purse is the sum total of all
winnings, from first through last. You only win a share of that, even if you
win the tournament. You have to make the "cut" in order to be "in the money."
If you don't make the cut, then you earn no money.

10) If a tournament starts in one month and ends in the next, it counts towards
the later month for "player of the month" standings and the like.

11) The purses vary based upon your performance. I was going to try and figure
this out, but it's a little complicated. They do start around $1.5 million
purses, and work their way up from there. I've heard that the purses in the
second season can approach $9 million for the same tournaments. The AI
performance improves, but not drastically so. The best I've seen in the first
season, about half way through, is -20 by the AI.

Chapter 7) ARCADE MODES

1) Battle Golf
- 2 player match play for clubs. If you win the hole, you get to remove one
of your opponent's clubs. Continues until one player wins.

2) Skillzone
- An accuracy game. There are different "courses" where you try and aim for
various bullseyes and other moving targets. The closer you are to the
bullseye, the more points you get.
- There are bonus balls that give you multipliers.
- There are two scenarios that make you play the skillzone. This is the only
"mandatory" Arcade Mode in the game.
- Five skillzone modes:
    1) Target - 20 balls, hit targets for cash
    2) target2target - CPU picks the bullseyes, hit for cash
    3) Timed - 90 seconds, bonus time for accurate shots
    4) Capture - 2 player mode, hit bullseye to lock target, first one to 5
targets wins, you can steal opponents targets before they're locked
    5) T-I-G-E-R - similar to H-O-R-S-E. You make a shot. Your opponent has
to make the same shot or they get a letter. The first to spell TIGER
       loses.

3) Speed Golf
- "This is NOT your Daddy's golf game."
- You have to rush to get it into the hole. Your time counts more than your
score, but accuracy helps your time since you don't have to hit the ball as
much.
- You can play vs. the CPU or vs. another player.

4) Long Drive Shootout
- This is a competitive long drive challenge. You try and hit it the farthest
you can, while getting close to the white line as you can.
- You can get bonus points for hitting the white line.
- This is a 2 to 4 player game.
- There are 5 "courses" with increasing difficulty.
- There are three modes:
     1) Total Distance - The total yardage of your drives is tallied. First
one to pass the total distance wins. You can set the total distance to
       3000, 4000, 5000, 6000, or 7000 yards.
     2) Total Balls - The total yardage of your drives is tallied. This time
you are limited to the number of balls you set from the start. You can
set the number of balls to 5, 10, or 15.
     3) Longest Drive - The longest drive wins! You can set the number of
       balls available to 5, 10, or 15.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 8) REAL TIME EVENTS

Notes:
1) This is a new mode this year. Based on the internal system clock, there are
certain events that pop up on certain days, such as on holidays and player
birthdays.

2) The prizes for winning these events, which are like mini-scenarios, include
a cash prize (usually around $15,000) and unlocked items in the pro shop.

3) You can "cheat" and change your system clock to play the events you've
missed or the events that you have yet to play if you don't want to wait.

4) Since I haven't cheated ahead very far yet, the game won't let me see what's
coming in Feb 2004 or beyond. I'll post that as soon as I find out what's
there.

Chapter 9) TRADITIONAL GAMES

8 Modes:
--------
1) Stroke Play
- Standard Golf - up to 4 players - total of all strokes.
- Compete against unlocked CPU opponents for cash

2) Match Play
- same as the World Tour. You win based on stroke count on each hole.

3) Skins
- 2 to 4 players. Instead of strokes, you play for cash on each hole. If no
one wins the hole, the skin rolls over to the next hole.

4) Practice
- Just like it says. You pick the course, you pick the lie, and you hammer
away until you've had enough.

5) Stableford
- Instead of scoring, this works off of a point system. -1 for a bogey, 0 for
par, 2 for a birdie, 5 for an eagle, 8 for a double eagle. -3 for a double
bogey or worse.
- Note that this is a modified stableford scoring system. Not standard.

6) Alternate Shot
- Two teams of two players compete. Teammates alternate shots until ball is
in the hole. Teammates also alternate tee shots.

7) Best Ball
- Best individual score for each hole counts as the team score for that hole.

8) Four Ball
- Same as best ball, but under a match play scoring system.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 10) CUSTOMIZABLE SOUNDTRACKS (XBox only!)

- To do this, you must have "ripped" music to your XBox hard drive using the
XBox dashboard.

- Then you go to Options in the menu and select customizable soundtracks in the
EA Trax menu. It's that easy!

- Apparently you can't pick and choose which songs from your XBox hard drive
you want to play. But you can choose "Repeat" mode or "Shuffle" mode. You can
also deselect all of the EA Trax so that only "your" music is playing during
the game.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 11) ONLINE PLAY (PS2 only!)

- If you want to play me online, email me. My online name is BW26. I'm
currently 1-0-0 with no disconnects.

- The first time you logon, you'll first be asked to create an EA Account.
This is different than your EA Profile which is what you create next. The
profile is basically your screen name. This is what everyone will see when
they see you in the lobbies, or play against you.

- Then you'll be connected to the servers. First it connects to your ISP, then
it authenticates DNAS, then it connects to the servers.

- Note: I have had glitches occur before while moving through the menus. One
of the scarier ones erased all my settings in both the offline mode and the
online mode. Luckily none of my progress in the game was erased. Play online
with caution!

- Online Menus:
1) Quick Play
     - Connects you to the current online tournament underway.
2) Online Game Modes
     a) Match Play
     b) Stroke Play
         1) Game Lobbies

        - Set up your default options for when you challenge someone
          1) Course

          3) Shot clock (maximum amount of time each golfer can take with each
             shot)
          4) Holes (all 18, back or front nine)
          5) Tees

        messages out
     c) My Resume
        - Similar to your resume in offline play, but set up for your online
        stats.
4) Online Extras
     - This is EA Sports news and information, including outages and updates
     - You can also use the EA Messenger here and view the Membership Agreement

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 12) COURSE BY COURSE TIPS

Notes:
1) I'm not listing every possible way to play each hole, just the methods that
I think work best. If you have a better method, let me know! I'll try it out
and possibly include it if it works (and give you credit).

2) For the uninitiated, handicap on each hole is the difficulty compared to the
other holes on that course. Thus on each course, HDCP #1 is the hardest hole
on the course. In real life, they calculate these based off of average scores
handed in to the pro shop.
    - There's even a scenario labeled "Handicap #1" with nothing but those hard
      holes!
    - The transverse is also true: Handicap #18 should be the easiest.
    - However, in reality, this is somewhat contrived. They actually only use
odd or even numbers on the front nine, and the opposite on the back nine.
Thus if the hardest hole is actually on the back nine, but the back nine
is all "even" numbers, then it will be Handicap #2, even though it's the
      hardest hole on the course.

3) Postcard hole means the hole that the game shows during the loading scene.
In real life, they're sometimes called Signature holes. For example, the #17
at TPC Sawgrass is probably one of the most famous holes in the world.

4) Course difficulty: this is the game's difficulty rating that they give it.
I tend to disagree with some of them. But the difficulty does matter on the
cash you receive. See Chapter 20 on Tour Cards for how that works.
     - For example, the Emerald Dragon is considered an easy course. Ha!
     - For example, the TPC Sawgrass is a medium course. Ha! I tend to get
some of my highest scores on that course.

5) I've also included real websites for the real courses that I could find.
Those websites are trademarks of their respective owners. Some are very cool.
For example, Kapalua's website has animated walkthroughs of several holes, with
real footage of the course. This shows you the attention to detail that EA put
into each course - magnificent!

6) All information below assumes a fully powered up character (or close to it),
and teeing off from the black tees. Thus if I say you can make it over a gorge
or something like that, but your character is not powered up, you might want
to "lay up" instead. But, if you're playing from the white tees or blue tees,
you may wish to be more aggressive than I've shown below. Use caution either
way!

7) The following courses are available from the beginning:
- Pebble Beach
- Torrey Pines
- Spyglass Hill
- Poppy Hills
- St. Andrews
- Royal Birkdale
- Princeville Resort
- Kapalua Plantation
- TPC Sawgrass
- TPC Scottsdale
- Bay Hill Club
- Bethpage Black
- Sahalee Country Club
- Pinehurst No. 2

8) These courses require certain things to unlock them:
- Black Rock Cove - $100,000 earnings
- The Highlands - $400,000 earnings
- Penguin Falls - $750,000 earnings
- Wallaby Creek - $1,000,000 earnings
- The Predator - $1,500,000 earnings
- Emerald Dragon - $2,000,000 earnings
- Tiger's Dream 18 - Completing various holes in the World Tour (see Chapter 5)

9) Some of the courses below are under construction - it takes a long time
to write a walkthrough for 21 courses!

------------------------------------------------------

--> Pebble Beach (Course Difficulty = Medium)
http://www.pebblebeach.com/1.html
Par 72, 6,737 yards

 1) Par 4, 376 yards, handicap 8
- Use a slice to line up with the green

 2) Par 5, 502 yards, handicap 10
- Straight par-5 with a wide fairway

 3) Par 4, 374 yards, handicap 12
- Hook it hard to get really close to the green.

 4) Par 4, 327 yards, handicap 16
- Driveable, even though it's uphill. Use spin accordingly.

 5) Par 3, 187 yards, handicap 14
- Across the water. Green is fairly flat.

 6) Par 5, 500 yards, handicap 2
- Split fairways - second shot is uphill. Green slopes to the front.

 7) Par 3, 106 yards, handicap 18
- Downhill, but fairly straight forward. Just don't use your power boost.

 8) Par 4, 416 yards, handicap 6
- Don't go for far fairway without favorable winds. Otherwise, lay-up.

 9) Par 4, 462 yards, handicap 4
- Possible to get long drives here. The ball will roll downhill and to the
right.

10) Par 4, 430 yards, handicap 7
- Aim left since the ball will roll right.

11) Par 4, 373 yards, handicap 5
- Uphill, but drive away!

12) Par 3, 201 yards, handicap 17
- Long, downhill par-3.

13) Par 4, 393 yards, handicap 9
- Aim right since the ball will roll left. Green slopes to the left.

14) Par 5, 572 yards, handicap 1
- Tough par 5 - need a massive slice off the tee. Green is uphill. You'll
need a 1 iron or 5 wood to get there. Green slopes to the front.

15) Par 4, 396 yards, handicap 13
- Driveable with favorable winds. Don't worry about the trees. You'll clear
them.

16) Par 4, 401 yards, handicap 11
- Lay up with a fairway wood.

17) Par 3, 178 yards, handicap 15
- Shallow green. Be on your distance or use lots of backspin.

18) Par 5, 543 yards, handicap 3 (POSTCARD HOLE)
- Nice wide fairway.

------------------------------------------------------

--> Emerald Dragon (Course Difficulty = Easy - YEAH RIGHT!!)
Par 73, 8,264 yards

 1) Par 5, 536 yards, handicap 13
- Aim short of bridge. Need another drive to the green which is shallow.

 2) Par 4, 533 yards, handicap 3 (POSTCARD HOLE)
- Aim for right fairway. You can't reach the left. Green is up hill on a
plateau.

 3) Par 3, 210 yards, handicap 15
- Very shallow green.

 4) Par 4, 476 yards, handicap 5
- Aim left of both bunkers. You'll clear the trees and land in the fairway.

 5) Par 4, 444 yards, handicap 7
- Bizarre stepped fairway. Aim for the fairway between the first 2 bunkers.
Green is uphill and slopes to the front.

 6) Par 5, 677 yards, handicap 11
- Aim for the far fairway. You'll make it. It's a downhill drive again to hit
the green.

 7) Par 5, 683 yards, handicap 9
- You have to lay up. Twice... Unless you've got gale force winds helping
you. Green is uphill. Hardest par 5 in the game...

 8) Par 4, 565 yards, handicap 1
- Aim as close to the gap in the fairways as you can. Green is uphill.

 9) Par 3, 206 yards, handicap 17
- Green is downhill. Severe slopes in back corners.

10) Par 4, 422 yards, handicap 6
- Fairway is narrow. Drive out as far as you can to line up. Green slopes
away from the center in all directions.

11) Par 5, 698 yards, handicap 14
- Aim over the trees - you'll make it. Long drive to the green. You can use
the tree on the front portion to slow the ball down.

12) Par 4, 587 yards, handicap 4
- Fairway is downhill. Aim just right of the big bunker. Long iron to the
green. Green slopes harshly at the edges.

13) Par 4, 418 yards, handicap 8
- Lay up right of the bunkers. Gives you a cleaner shot at the elevated
plateau green.

14) Par 3, 156 yards, handicap 18
- Coolest hole in the game. The dragon shaped hole. Shallow green that slopes
away to the right and left.

15) Par 5, 694 yards, handicap 12
- "Lay up" unless you have lots of wind help. Another long drive to the green.
It will be a close one unless you have wind help. Green slopes to the front.

16) Par 4, 367 yards, handicap 2
- Tough bunker in the middle of the fairway. Either lay up or aim right which
will put you in a better line with the green. Green is two tiered, slopes to
the right front.

17) Par 3, 189 yards, handicap 16
- Green has a "U" shape slope in the middle, but otherwise straight forward.

18) Par 4, 401 yards, handicap 10
- You can make the far fairway. It's downhill. Unless the wind is against
you. You can even get a nice roll onto the green.

------------------------------------------------------

--> The Predator (Course Difficulty = Expert - believe it)
Par 72, 8,276 yards

 1) Par 4, 362 yards, handicap 11 (POSTCARD HOLE)
- Possible to drive the green in one, but difficult from the black tees. Green
slopes towards the left front.

 2) Par 4, 502 yards, handicap 3
- Just lay up. Not worth trying to hook it closer to the hole. I use a 1 Iron
off the tee and a 4 Iron to the hole.

 3) Par 3, 209 yards, handicap 7
- Green is about 25 feet downhill. Also has a "false front". If you miss long
when the pin is on the front half, the ball will roll away towards the center
of the green.

 4) Par 5, 749 yards, handicap 15
- This hole is the worst. Handicap 15?!? Yeah right. Toughest hole in the
game. Eagling this one is tough... Aim just right of the first tree over the
rock. You'll drop in on the fairway. Then it's a matter of threading the
needle to the green. You can lay up to the right side and then try for a chip
in eagle if you're worried about not making it. I often bogey this hole by
being too aggressive and hitting it out of bounds.

 5) Par 4, 370 yards, handicap 13
- You'll have to drive it through the gap. If you don't, you can't hit the
green. Don't over do the boost. You'll hit the trees and fall short.

 6) Par 5, 719 yards, handicap 1
- Long par 5, but reachable, even from the blacks. Bomb it down the fairway
on the left side. Then hit another drive to the green. You can bounce the
ball or roll it onto the green by aiming right of the green. The fairway and
the green slope to the left to funnel the ball into the green.

 7) Par 3, 203 yards, handicap 17
- Green is somewhat shallow, but it slopes to the front. Beware too much
backspin. I've rolled it right into the water before.

 8) Par 4, 448 yards, handicap 9
- I always go left on this hole. Lines you up better with the green. You can
drive it through the gap.

 9) Par 4, 510 yards, handicap 5
- Aim straight ahead and drop in a drive. You'll get no roll, so don't worry
about the traps. Then head straight for the green. You'll miss all the trees.
Just remember that the green is 25 feet or so uphill. The green also slopes
off heavily to the left front.

10) Par 4, 514 yards, handicap 14
- Go for the far fairway, but aim left so you don't hit the tree. Then the
green is 25 feet downhill. Green has multiple slopes.

11) Par 4, 454 yards, handicap 8
- Possible to drive the green in one if you get a bounce off the fallen trees.
The fairway is heavily sloped towards the green at the end, so you'll drive it.
However, this is risky, so lay up if you think you won't make it. If you miss,
it's out of bounds. Green is bowl shaped.

12) Par 5, 676 yards, handicap 18
- This is the shortcut hole. Easiest par-5 hole on the Predator to Eagle.
Lay up on purpose. Use a fairway wood and aim just short of bunker on the
right. Then turn left and aim over the "low" area in the ruins. You'll hit
the green, which is massive. If you get the ball close, it's an eagle. If you
don't get close, expect to three putt.

13) Par 4, 421 yards, handicap 4
- Use a fairway wood to hit the second fairway. Don't use too much boost. It's
90 feet downhill. The green is also 10 feet downhill.

14) Par 3, 207 yards, handicap 16
- Green is 165 or so feet downhill! Club down once and take a little off the
backswing, or club down twice and use minimal boost. Green is wickedly tri-
tiered. Beware backspin!

15) Par 4, 525 yards, handicap 2
- There's a gap in the trees to the right. Even if you hit a tree, you'll drop
right in on the fairway. Make sure you use boost! The fairway is wide, so
you'll make it. Green is shallow and slopes left.

16) Par 5, 627 yards, handicap 12
- Aim for the gap to the right of the third tree on the left. You will hit the
trees, but it will drop down onto the fairway. Then go for the green. You'll
probably hit trees again, but make it unless you hit the tree trunk square.

17) Par 3, 222 yards, handicap 6
- Green is shallow and slopes towards the center like a "U".

18) Par 4, 558 yards, handicap 10
- Aim right and long to straighten out the angle to the green. Green slopes
towards the middle.

------------------------------------------------------

--> Black Rock Cove (Course Difficulty = Hard)
Par 72, 6,926 yards

 1) Par 4, 387 yards, handicap 14 (POSTCARD HOLE)
- Aim for last fairway on the left if you have a maxed out character and the
wind isn't against you.

 2) Par 5, 602 yards, handicap 10
- With the wind, go for the fairway on the other side. Otherwise lay up.

 3) Par 4, 481 yards, handicap 2
- Aim for the far fairway. Aim left if into the wind.

 4) Par 4, 367 yards, handicap 8
- Aim for the upper fairway. Straighter shot at the pin. If you want to risk
it, blast it off the rocks on the mountain and hope for a bounce to the green.

 5) Par 4, 411 yards, handicap 6
- If not into the wind, go for the far fairway.

 6) Par 3, 185 yards, handicap 18
- Club down three times. Adjust for the wind on your boost.

 7) Par 4, 420 yards, handicap 16
- Hit a massive hook with a fairway wood or driver.

 8) Par 4, 346 yards, handicap 12
- Go for the green in one unless the wind is against you.

 9) Par 5, 597 yards, handicap 4
- Go for the left fairway with a fairway wood. If you don't land it in the
fairway, lay up. You won't make the green.

10) Par 4, 426 yards, handicap 3
- lay up straight ahead. Aim for the green through the gap in the rocks.

11) Par 3, 181 yards, handicap 7
- straight ahead simple par 3.

12) Par 4, 390 yards, handicap 9
- Reachable green with favorable winds. Or else you can try to hit the rocks
to bounce it to the green. But that's risky!

13) Par 5, 538 yards, handicap 5
- Split fairways on this hole. Using the default aim, use your driver and use
a massive hook. You'll bounce off the rocks and land on the lower fairway.
Massive drives over 400 yards possible.

14) Par 3, 135 yards, handicap 17
- Club down twice and adjust for the wind with the boost you use.

15) Par 4, 418 yards, handicap 11
- Narrow fairway, otherwise straight forward.

16) Par 4, 278 yards, handicap 13
- Reachable in one, but very, very risky. Club down if you go for it.

17) Par 3, 111 yards, handicap 15
- Club up at least once.

18) Par 5, 653 yards, handicap 1
- Aim for right fairway. Beware using power boost at all. Then go for the
green with a fairway wood.

------------------------------------------------------

--> The Highlands (Course Difficulty = Expert)
Par 72, 8,273 yards

 1) Par 4, 544 yards, handicap 11 (POSTCARD HOLE)
- Cut the corner as much as the wind will allow you. Green is sloped back and
front.

 2) Par 5, 663 yards, handicap 3
- Forget about the lighthouse fairway unless you get a lucky rock bounce.
Instead focus on two long drives to the green.

 3) Par 4, 415 yards, handicap 7
- Aim straight ahead, then go for the green. It's uphill. Either boost or
club up. Green is nice and flat for a change.

 4) Par 3, 177 yards, handicap 15
- Green is way downhill. I club down twice. Minimal boost (one button press).
Green is not flat on this hole, but not too bad.

 5) Par 4, 454 yards, handicap 13
- Old tree is in the way, but I've never hit it yet. Green slopes sharply to
the left front corner. The AI likes to put the pin right on the edge of that
slope. Make sure your putt is either in the hole or short!

 6) Par 5, 579 yards, handicap 1
- Lay up just short of the bridge. Then go for the green with a fairway wood.
Green is fairly flat. I had a 45 foot "straight in" putt on this hole.

 7) Par 4, 460 yards, handicap 17
- Lay up, then go for the green. Not worth risking the sand traps on this
hole.

 8) Par 4, 476 yards, handicap 9
- Lay up just short of the break in the fairway. Green is bowl shaped. Makes
for lots of roll possibility. Green slopes to the back.

 9) Par 3, 218 yards, handicap 5
- Sound effects get very loud and annoying on this hole. Pretty straight
forward otherwise...

10) Par 4, 443 yards, handicap 14
- Still annoying sound effects... blast across the water with a drive. Go as
far right as the wind will allow. Green slopes to the right.

11) Par 5, 647 yards, handicap 8
- Blast away. Try for a bounce off the keeps in the center of the fairway. If
you make it, you'll get a massive distance. Either way, you can make the green
in two.

12) Par 4, 576 yards, handicap 18
- Aim for the end of the fairway on the right. Watch the columns on your
second shot. Green slopes to the right and is shallow. So if you need to aim
around a column, go left and roll right into the pin.

13) Par 4, 439 yards, handicap 4
- Better to lay up to the right. Give you a long view of this narrow green.
Green slopes away sharply at the edges.

14) Par 4, 532 yards, handicap 16
- Drive it to the left of the sand. Green is fairly flat.

15) Par 3, 200 yards, handicap 2
- Green is on a plateau, but it's level with the tee box. Use backspin to
ensure the ball doesn't go over the backside.

16) Par 4, 536 yards, handicap 12
- Aim right for the stonehenge or a little to the left of it. This will line
you up with the green which is again narrow like hole number 13.

17) Par 3, 252 yards, handicap 6
- Long, very long, par 3. Not very tough if you can get the ball to hold the
green. Green is fairly flat except on the front edge.

18) Par 5, 662 yards, handicap 10
- Tough hole to eagle from the black tees. Have to drive it across the first
gorge. You need wind help to do this. Green slopes from back to front and is
an elevated "island". Lay up if you don't think you can make it.

--> Penguin Falls (Course Difficulty = Easy)
Par 72, 7,360 yards

 1) Par 5, 614 yards, handicap 11
- Have to fade around the rocks to land on the third fairway. Long iron to the
green.

 2) Par 4, 394 yards, handicap 3
- Lay up with a fairway wood. Shallow green. Be on your distance.

 3) Par 4, 440 yards, handicap 7
- Lay up to the right fairway. Brings you inline with the green. Beware of
the sloped fairway edges.

 4) Par 3, 233 yards, handicap 15
- Long par three, but level. Blast away.

 5) Par 4, 397 yards, handicap 13
- Go left with a fairway wood. Lines you up with the green.

 6) Par 4, 365 yards, handicap 1
- Drive the green.

 7) Par 5, 471 yards, handicap 17
- Go to the small circular fairway to the right. Lines you up for a long iron
to the green.

 8) Par 4, 423 yards, handicap 9
- Drive up the finger shaped fairway. Green is slightly downhill and sloped
from back to front.

 9) Par 3, 133 yards, handicap 5
- Green is 158 feet below you. Adjust accordingly! (one or two clubs)

10) Par 5, 573 yards, handicap 14
- Cut the Corner. You'll be lined up with the green.

11) Par 4, 509 yards, handicap 8
- Theoretically possible to drive it in one by going over the mountain or
bouncing off of it. Otherwise just hook around it.

12) Par 3, 165 yards, handicap 18
- Narrow width green. Be on your accuracy to avoid hitting mountain.

13) Par 4, 430 yards, handicap 4
- Go right. Lines you up with the green.

14) Par 4, 438 yards, handicap 16 (POSTCARD HOLE)
- Aim right of rocks sticking out of fairway. Then hook it. You'll be in
position.

15) Par 3, 164 yards, handicap 2
- Very sloped green.

16) Par 4, 476 yards, handicap 12
- Go for the finger shaped fairway over the hill. Wedge shot to the green.

17) Par 4, 406 yards, handicap 6
- Drive the green. Thread the needle over the rocks.

18) Par 5, 729 yards, handicap 10
- Go for the narrow fairway in the middle. Fairway wood to the green. You
can't/won't hit the ceiling.

- If you hit it long, watch out for bunker sticking out into the fairway on the
right side.

 2) Par 4, 449 yards, handicap 3
- Straight forward hole. Blast away.

 3) Par 4, 340 yards, handicap 13
- Drive it in one. Green slopes to the right front.

 4) Par 5, 550 yards, handicap 5
- Downhill fairway that slopes to the right. Green is slightly uphill.

 5) Par 4, 483 yards, handicap 1
- Fairway slopes to the left. Green is slightly uphill and slopes to the left
as well.

 6) Par 3, 224 yards, handicap 15
- Green slopes uphill from front to back.

 7) Par 4, 404 yards, handicap 9
- Tough hole. You can't go straight for the green. Fade it to get it close.

 8) Par 4, 466 yards, handicap 7
- Straight downhill fairway. Green slopes from the back left to the right
front.

 9) Par 3, 190 yards, handicap 17
- Shallow green slightly downhill. Green slopes away at the edges.

10) Par 5, 611 yards, handicap 2
- And you thought Bethpage Black was long! Stay to the right to have a shot
at the green. I like the announcers comment here about only Daly and Tiger
being pin high at the US Open that was held here.

11) Par 4, 452 yards, handicap 8
- Very straight hole. Green slopes away towards the back.

12) Par 4, 446 yards, handicap 10
- Another fairly straight hole. Green slopes to the front.

13) Par 4, 381 yards, handicap 14
- Aim right for the green. You won't make it due to the slope, but you'll come
close. Green slopes to the front again.

14) Par 4, 437 yards, handicap 4
- Downhill fairway. If you go long, watch for the S curve in the fairway.

15) Par 3, 205 yards, handicap 16

16) Par 5, 516 yards, handicap 12
- Don't expect much roll off the drive on this hole. Otherwise straight
forward hole.

17) Par 3, 187 yards, handicap 18

Par 73, 7,263 yards

 1) Par 4, 473 yards, handicap 11
- lay up, it's downhill! Green is sloped from back to right front.

 2) Par 3, 218 yards, handicap 17
- long par 3 - usually downwind

 3) Par 4, 380 yards, handicap 3
- uphill, so even though it's short, you cannot drive it without the wind.

 4) Par 4, 382 yards, handicap 9
- very uphill, but straight.

 5) Par 5, 532 yards, handicap 7
- Keep it to the right to cut the corner to the green. The fringe of the green
is heavily sloped.

 6) Par 4, 398 yards, handicap 13
- bombs away! Drive it in one - my longest drive is 429 yards on this hole.

 7) Par 4, 481 yards, handicap 5
- Very downhill, adjust your clubs accordingly

 8) Par 3, 203 yards, handicap 15
- downhill hole, green slopes from back left to right front.

 9) Par 5, 521 yards, handicap 1
- You have to lay up. Leaves a long, uphill shot.

10) Par 4, 354 yards, handicap 10
- Uphill, but if you aim directly for the green, even if you come up short,
you'll hit a patch of fairway.

11) Par 3, 164 yards, handicap 18
- Slightly downhill, very easy hole.

12) Par 4, 373 yards, handicap 14
- Very downhill, but tough to drive in one without the wind.

13) Par 4, 407 yards, handicap 4
- Aim for the S turn in the fairway. It's slightly uphill.

14) Par 4, 305 yards, handicap 16
- Driveable in one, but it's uphill. May have to take something off your drive
to ensure you don't "overdrive" the green.

15) Par 5, 555 yards, handicap 6
- Cut the corner. You'll make it and roll downhill. The second shot will be
uphill and long anyways.

16) Par 4, 365 yards, handicap 12
- Uphill - aim left over the sandtrap.

17) Par 4, 486 yards, handicap 2
- Downhill - aim left. Green is also downhill.

18) Par 5, 663 yards, handicap 8 (POSTCARD HOLE)
- Very downhill hole. Stay left to cut the distance to the green. Green is
also very downhill. Adjust accordingly.

--> Princeville Resort (Course Difficulty = Hard)
http://www.princeville.com/play/prince_desc.html
Par 72, 7,309 yards

 1) Par 4, 448 yards, handicap 6 (POSTCARD HOLE)
- Bombs away! Wide fairway. Green slopes from back to front.

 2) Par 5, 597 yards, handicap 14
- Must lay up. Leaves a long uphill shot to the green.

 3) Par 3, 177 yards, handicap 18
- Green slopes back right to left front.

 4) Par 5, 554 yards, handicap 12
- Downhill fairway - blast away - aim over the bunker. Green slopes towards
the water.

 5) Par 4, 453 yards, handicap 4
- Fairway narrows. Blast between the two bunkers.

 6) Par 4, 428 yards, handicap 8
- Use fairway wood. Bunker in the middle makes it tough to use a driver.

 7) Par 3, 205 yards, handicap 10
- Green has a big slope towards front left.

 8) Par 4, 460 yards, handicap 2
- Fairway is wide and slightly uphill.

 9) Par 4, 366 yards, handicap 16
- Aim just right of tree to drive the green. Green slopes heavily towards the
front.

10) Par 5, 588 yards, handicap 9
- Question mark shaped fairway. Blast away straight ahead. Use a 6 iron to
clear the oak in front of the green. Green slopes towards the oak.

11) Par 3, 187 yards, handicap 13
- Slightly downhill.

12) Par 4, 390 yards, handicap 5
- Very downhill fairway. Driveable if you have a little wind help. Green
slopes severely to right front.

13) Par 4, 418 yards, handicap 3
- Ignore default lay-up aim. You'll clear the trees with a drive.

14) Par 3, 211 yards, handicap 11
- Narrow green that slopes towards the front.

15) Par 5, 576 yards, handicap 7
- You have to lay up. Use a fairway wood. Then it takes another fairway wood
to the green.

16) Par 4, 375 yards, handicap 15
- Very uphill. You can't drive it.

17) Par 4, 421 yards, handicap 17
- Right dogleg - aim left to line up with the green.

18) Par 4, 455 yards, handicap 1
- You won't get much roll on the drive on this hole, if any roll at all.

------------------------------------------------------

--> Wallaby Creek (Course Difficulty = Easy - YEAH RIGHT!)
Par 72, 7,970 yards

 1) Par 4, 450 yards, handicap 9
- Blast it to the end of the undulating fairway. Don't hit it into the water!

 2) Par 3, 208 yards, handicap 17
- Green is 100 feet downhill and sloped heavily from back to front. Beware
backspin! Club down once.

 3) Par 4, 497 yards, handicap 3
- Aim for the middle of the undulating fairway. Green is slightly uphill and
very sloped from back to front.

 4) Par 4, 411 yards, handicap 7
- Use fairway wood, otherwise you'll drive it straight into the gorge.
Green is on a plateau that's slightly uphill. You'll clear the trees on your
approach to the green.

 5) Par 5, 636 yards, handicap 13
- If the wind is against you, only go for the first section of fairway. Long
shot over the gorge to reach the green in two. Very risky. I have hit it 45
yards beyond the green and still not been out of bounds. So go long!

 6) Par 3, 225 yards, handicap 15
- Green is slightly downhill.

 7) Par 4, 529 yards, handicap 1
- Fairway is very narrow. Green is 2 tiered. Be sure you're on the tier the
pin is on.

 8) Par 5, 712 yards, handicap 11
- You have to go for the left fairway to reach the green in two. Tough shot to
make without wind help. Green is narrow, and two tiered. Big shot across the
gorge to reach the green.

 9) Par 4, 433 yards, handicap 5
- Lay up! No need to try for far fairway. Green is the smallest in the game.
Be on your accuracy. Green also slopes to the right.

10) Par 4, 412 yards, handicap 10
- Lay up! Green slopes to the right front.

11) Par 3, 162 yards, handicap 18
- Tough, heavily sloped, "U" shaped green. I hate this hole. Birdie is a gift
here.

12) Par 4, 451 yards, handicap 8
- Aim directly over the bunker on the left and bomb it down the narrow fairway.
Green has a hump in the middle.

13) Par 5, 662 yards, handicap 12
- Cool hole. Must aim to the right to have a clear shot to the green. Bounce
it off the hills? Green has a crown towards the backside. Be sure to be on
your accuracy.

14) Par 4, 457 yards, handicap 6
- Aim just left of the trees. Fairway juts out a bit. Green is protected and
narrow, with a wicked 2 tier drop.

15) Par 4, 512 yards, handicap 2
- Ignore the default aim. Go for a drive down the hill. Green is fairly flat
for once.

16) Par 3, 193 yards, handicap 16
- Green has very severe slopes. 2 tiers in each direction! Don't hit it long,
you'll be in the water if you do.

17) Par 4, 465 yards, handicap 4
- Don't go for the left fairway unless the wind is with you. Green slopes
heavily from back to front.

18) Par 5, 555 yards, handicap 14
- If you're confident, aim across the gorge to cut the corner. Green slopes
away heavily towards the edges. Tough putts!

--> TPC Sawgrass (Course Difficulty = Medium)
http://www.tpc.com/daily/sawgrass
Par 72, 6,872 yards

 1) Par 4, 388 yards, handicap 12
- aim past bend in the fairway - drivable green with favorable winds.

 2) Par 5, 526 yards, handicap 16
- Give it a slight draw around the trees.

 3) Par 3, 162 yards, handicap 18
- Very easy... I won't insult your intelligence.

 4) Par 4, 360 yards, handicap 10
- Don't use your power boost. Green drops off to the left.

 5) Par 4, 454 yards, handicap 4
- Aim at the bend in the fairway. Leaves an easy wedge to the green.

 6) Par 4, 381 yards, handicap 14
- No power boost again.

 7) Par 4, 439 yards, handicap 2
- Aim for the middle of the narrowed part of the fairway.

 8) Par 3, 215 yards, handicap 8
- Slightly downhill, but long.

 9) Par 5, 582 yards, handicap 6
- Aim for the end of the first fairway - stay to the right. 1 Iron over the
trees. Use backspin to stop it on the green.

10) Par 4, 395 yards, handicap 11
- Lay up with the fairway wood. From closer tees you can hook it to the far
fairway.

11) Par 5, 529 yards, handicap 7
- Aim just right of the Oak Tree. Green has a rescue fairway to the left, so
aim to the left to ensure you make it.

12) Par 4, 336 yards, handicap 15
- Lay up with the fairway wood. Short wedge to the green.

13) Par 3, 172 yards, handicap 17
- Aim right if pin is close to the water. Green has lots of slopes...

14) Par 4, 438 yards, handicap 3
- Fairway really narrows with S turn in it. You'll make it though if you aim
past the first bend.

15) Par 4, 426 yards, handicap 5
- Another lay up hole. Green slopes on the right.

16) Par 5, 497 yards, handicap 9
- Use a draw. Green is fairly flat.

17) Par 3, 132 yards, handicap 13 (POSTCARD HOLE)
- Quite possibly the most famous hole in the world. It's all about the
distance.

18) Par 4, 440 yards, handicap 1
- Around the water hole - pretty straight forward. Just don't be left!

 2) Par 4, 421 yards, handicap 3

- If you hit it long, or the wind is behind you, watch out for the S curve in
the fairway at the end.

 4) Par 3, 203 yards, handicap 15
- club up or down according to the wind

 5) Par 4, 344 yards, handicap 13 (POSTCARD HOLE)

 6) Par 5, 480 yards, handicap 1
- Dogleg right - use a slice or cut the corner

 9) Par 4, 411 yards, handicap 5

10) Par 4, 403 yards, handicap 14
- drive it in one. You'll clear the trees and the hill.

11) Par 4, 408 yards, handicap 8
- Drive it in one again. You'll clear everything. But you can't make it if
the wind is against you.

12) Par 3, 183 yards, handicap 18
- club up or down according to the wind

13) Par 4, 498 yards, handicap 4
- Aim for middle of two sandtraps in the fairway.

14) Par 3, 198 yards, handicap 16
- Easy hole, club up or down according to the wind

15) Par 5, 544 yards, handicap 2
- Very long, straight par 5. Blast away.

16) Par 4, 416 yards, handicap 12
- Just avoid the fairway bunkers. They'll suck you in since they're sloped.

17) Par 5, 547 yards, handicap 6
- Another long par 5 - Bomb's away.

18) Par 4, 472 yards, handicap 10
- Watch the fairway bunker. Wind can push you in it.

 4) Par 5, 530 yards, handicap 15
- Maybe use a slight draw. Green is large.

 5) Par 4, 384 yards, handicap 13
- Have to lay-up with a fairway wood.

 6) Par 5, 543 yards, handicap 9
- Possible green-in-one par 5. Need favorable winds.

 7) Par 3, 197 yards, handicap 17
- Straight forward par-3.

 8) Par 4, 459 yards, handicap 7

10) Par 4, 400 yards, handicap 12

slightly.

11) Par 4, 428 yards, handicap 2
- Fairway narrows closer to the green. Straight forward otherwise.

12) Par 5, 570 yards, handicap 10
- Long par 5 - aim just over the tree. Long iron or fairway wood to green.

13) Par 4, 364 yards, handicap 6 (POSTCARD HOLE)

14) Par 3, 206 yards, handicap 16
- Long par 3 - straight forward though.

15) Par 4, 425 yards, handicap 8

Chapter 13) THE PRO SHOP

1) The Pro Shop is the another major addition to this year's game.

2) There are various equipment, apparel, accessories, and animations that can
be purchased and collected with your hard earned cash.

3) Most items have an attribute modifier ranging from 1 "dot" to 4 "dots". The
more dots the better. Some even have modifiers in two different attribute
categories.
- These modifiers have the effect of increasing your attributes.
- You must wear a 4 "dot" item to have the full 4 "dot" effect to your
attributes. They are not cumulative! For example, you can't wear two 2 "dot"
items to get a 4 "dot" modifier.
- In addition, if you are wearing or equipping a 4 "dot" item in one category,
such as luck, then the rest of the items you are wearing or equipping in that
category have no impact whatsoever. They are just for show. For example, it
doesn't help you to wear ten 4 "dot" luck modifier items. Your luck will still
just be modified by 4 "dots".

4) You have to have 4 dot modifiers in each category to get your attributes to
the 110% max.

5) Every day, and sometimes more than once a day, you get new items on sale in
the "featured" items category. This is critical near the beginning of the game
when your cash is in short supply. All the on sale items are half price. Thus
$200,000 items are only $100,000! A huge savings!

--> I'm not going to list the pro shop items as they literally number in the
hundreds. If I get the time I might. However, I don't have to anymore...
Thanks Justin Aguilar for the awesome list below!

--> Just remember that if you want to get your sponsorship bonuses, use their
apparel and equipment!

Chapter 14) CREATE A GOLFER

1) This is another big huge addition to this year's game.

2) If you take your time, you can literally recreate almost any person,
including yourself!

3) The appearance of your golfer has no impact on his/her performance. Thus,
even though in real life, an overweight golfer may not perform very well, in
the game, an overweight golfer can perform just as good as Sunday Tiger Woods
if you build up that character's attributes.

4) Male or female has no impact on performance either. This is evidenced by
the great performances of Erika "Ice" Von Severin and Solita Lopez late in the
World Tour.

5) If there are any artists out there who want me to post their creations, then
I will do so and credit you with the creation!
- (I'm not an artist, so I won't be doing that myself)

6) Note that you HAVE to create a golfer to start the game. You can't play
without a created golfer.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 15) ATTRIBUTES

There are 9 categories of attributes. You start at 10% in each category. By
spending your hard earned cash, you can work your way up to 100% unmodified,
and 110% with full 4 "dot" multipliers. See chapter 13 for more details on
the modifiers.

1 dot is worth 1% extra
2 dots are worth 3% extra
3 dots are worth 6% extra
4 dots are worth 10% extra

Note: the cash amounts below apply to unmodified attribute categories. Subtract
the above modifier to see how much each point will cost you. Example: if you
have 4 dots, you need to subtract 10% from your total and then use the chart
below.

Here's the attribute categories and what each one does for you:
1) Power
- More power equals longer drives!
- This is the first one I attempt to max out.
2) Power Boost
- improves the power boost effect on the backswing
3) Driving Accuracy
- makes it easier to hit straighter shots
4) Ball Striking
- improves iron accuracy
5) Approach
- improves chip and pitch shot accuracy
6) Putting
- A higher score means more putts will drop.
- This is the second one I attempt to max out.
7) Recovery
- improves accuracy from the sand and rough.
8) Spin
- The higher the number, the easier it is to spin the ball, and the more you
can spin the ball.
- This is the third one I attempt to max out.
9) Luck
- Gives you good bounces in the rough, trees, etc.
- This is the fourth one I attempt to max out.

Here's the breakdown of what each percentage point costs:
10-15% $500 each
16-20% $1,000 each
21-24% $1,500 each
25% $1,750
26-30% $2,000 each
31-35% $2,500 each
36-40% $2,750 each
41-45% $5,000 each
46-49% $7,500 each
50% $10,000
51-55% $12,500 each
56-60% $15,000 each
61-65% $20,000 each
66-70% $25,000 each
71-74% $30,000 each
75% $32,500
76-80% $35,000 each
81-85% $40,000 each
86-90% $45,000 each
91-95% $50,000 each
96-99% $75,000 each
100% $100,000

Total amount of money to raise one stat to 100% (110% with modifiers):
     - $1,881,500
Total amount of money to raise your character to maxed out:
     - $16,933,500

Chapter 16) TROPHY BALLS

Notes:
1) Again, some of these balls can only be earned in certain modes. None of
them, save for the Scenario Completion ball, can be earned during the
scenarios. ALL of them can be earned during the PGA Tour Mode. SOME can be
earned during the World Tour Mode. I've tried to mark them below.

2) If you're having trouble with a particular ball, such as the double eagle
ball, look for a short driveable par-5. The Bay Hill Club #6 hole comes to
mind.

3) I'm working on the prize list for each one. It's tough to calculate on
some of them, especially if you win more than one in a round. This usually
happens with the First Tournament Win and the First Bogey Free Round, and the
Birdie Buster and Birdie Streak balls.

Chapter 19) GOLFERS AVAILABLE

Chapter 20) TOUR CARDS

There are 5 tour cards. You start out with the "bronze" tour card, or your "T"
card after you finish the tutorial at the very beginning of the game.

The Tour Cards are really only important in that they increase the amount of
money that you receive on each hole. For example, if you hit a 300 yard drive
with your T card, that is worth $50. If you hit that same drive with your R
card, you earn $300. See the chart below for details on how this works.

Also, I'm attempting to figure out the earnings when you earn each tour card.
As soon as I figure it out, I'll post it here. (under construction!)

Tour Cards available:
---------------------
Bronze Card - 1.0X multiplier - received after tutorial finished
T or Silver Card - 2.0X multiplier - received at X earnings
I or Gold Card - 3.0X multiplier - received at X earnings
G or Platinum Card - 4.0X multiplier - received at X earnings
E or Diamond Card - 5.0X multiplier - received at X earnings
R or TIGER Card - 6.0X multiplier - received at 100% game completion

Chapter 21) SPONSORSHIPS

Notes:
1) Sponsorships only really matter during the PGA Tour Season. You earn money
based off of how much equipment you're using or apparel/accessories you're
wearing from each sponsor. This bonus is awarded per round. This can really
add up. I make $140,000 per round on sponsorships, or $560,000 per tournament.
This is many times more than the winner's share of the purse in most
tournaments. Win or lose...

2) To see your list of sponsors, go to the PGA Tour Season mode and go left or
right until you see the sponsorship option.

3) The order appears to be random. But I have heard that Nike is commonly
last. This is a good thing. Nike has the most gear and apparel that you can
possibly wear, so you get lots of cash. I make $130,000 per round from Nike,
and $10,000 per round from Tag Heuer since Nike doesn't make watches.

4) If you have a Tiger Woods 2003 save file, you automatically get one sponsor
from the start.

5) Each sponsor gives you a signing bonus when you achieve that sponsorship.

6) Sponsorships do not appear to be tied to a single event. You seem to earn
them at certain percentages of game completion. I got my last one (Nike) at
about 80% game completion. I will attempt to ascertain what the required
levels are and update this section.

7) You cannot lose sponsors like golfers do in real life. Even if your
performance is awful. Once you get them, you've got them for good.

The available sponsors and what I earn per round for each of them. This may
(and probably will) vary for you:

 1) Ping $500
 2) Maxfli $750
 3) Precept $1,000
 4) Callaway Golf $1,500
 5) TourStage $2,000
 6) Cleveland Golf $2,500
 7) Adidas $3,000
 8) Odyssey Golf $4,000
 9) TAG Heuer $5,000
10) TaylorMade $7,500
11) Nike $10,000

My second character and the sponsors I've received so far: (under construction)

 1) Tag Heuer $500 / signing bonus $50,000
 2) Ping $750 / signing bonus $75,000
 3) Cleveland $1,000 / signing bonus $100,000
 4) Nike $1,500 / signing bonus $150,000
 5) Maxfli $2,000 / signing bonus $200,000

Chapter 24) GENERAL PLAYING TIPS

1) Choosing the correct club
- This is based off of your lie, whether you need to fade or draw the ball,
the wind, and the elevation change to the hole.
- I only club up or down for strong winds or a change in elevation greater than
40 feet (or a combination of both). Otherwise, I just adjust the amount of
boost I use for each shot.
- Example: I'm 110 yards out. The elevation change to the green is 10 feet
higher. The wind is in my face at about 6 mph. I do not change the club. I
just use max power boost.
- Example 2: I'm 110 yards out. The elevation change is 30 feet lower to the
green. The wind is at my back at about 4 mph. I change the club. I go one
club down and use minimal boost (one button press).
- You just need to get the feel for what works for you.

2) Chipping
- This is a completely new addition to this year's game. Here's my theories
on how this works after tons of experimentation. I like this alot. I think
it makes those shots close to the green alot easier.
- You can chip with any iron or wedge.
- Starting with the Sand Wedge, each club has a loft to roll ratio. The sand
wedge is 1:1. That means that it will travel just as much in the air as it
will roll. This ony works if you get it on the green first! If you don't, the
ball won't roll at all.
- The PW has a ratio of 1:2
- The 9I has a ratio of 1:3
- and so on until you reach the 5I (the highest club with which you can chip)
which has a ratio of 1:7. However, I hardly ever use any club beyond the
7 iron. If I'm in that range of roll needed, I just use the pitch shot.
- Use the grid to your advantage. There's no caddy tip on this, so you have
to develop a feel for how much to adjust your aim. The rolling lights on the
grid have a speed to them. If they're not moving at all, use a SW and aim
right for it. If they're moving fast, move the aiming marker opposite their
movement.
- Use the club you need depending on your lie. If you're on the green, and you
have a really long putt, I would use the 7 iron chip shot instead. You don't
need any loft, and the roll you'll get will get the ball there. If you're on
the fringe, loft is more important. Use the PW or SW or AW.
- Remember that the slope of your lie has a lot to do with your aiming. If the
ball is below your feet, aim left. If the ball is above your feet, aim right.
(Thanks KCWolfPck from IGN message boards for the tip!)

3) Putting and the Putting Grid
- This can make or break your game. Remember the adage "Drive for show, putt
for dough". This is totally true. A putt counts the same stroke as a drive.
2 putting or 3 putting will kill your score in a heartbeat.
- You just need to develop a feel for putting. There's no real "easy" way to
ensure you get the putt in the cup every time. Especially if the green has
ridiculous slopes.
- Just imagine if you were a pro! Putting often kills even Tiger's game in
real life.
- Turn on the putting grid! This is in the options menu. You're just a
glutton for punishment without it. It makes it a little easier.
- The grid varies in size depending on your distance from the cup.
- The cup itself is 4 inches wide. Thus 1 or 2 inch adjustments should be
inside the cup!
- The following measurements are all mine and my opinion. I've seen posted on
other boards different distances, but this works for me.
     - Under 20 foot putt:
            - From top to bottom: grid is 1'9"
            - From left to right: grid is 2'10"
     - 20 foot to 40 foot putt:
            - From top to bottom: grid is 2'6"
            - From left to right: grid is 2'10"
     - 40 foot or greater:
            - From top to bottom: grid is 5'
            - From left to right: grid is 2'10"
- I've occasionally seen a different grid size (4'2" high, 3' wide) that fits
between the 20 and 40 foot putts, but I haven't been able to measure when that
grid shows up. It might be from 30' to 40' putts.
- This grid means that if the caddy tells you 2 feet long, 2 inches left, you
place the marker at the left edge of the hole, and go a little beyond 1 grid
distance high. The hole is often not on the line itself, so you have to
"guesstimate" where to put the marker.
- If you're hardcore and want to go without the grid, you'll notice that there
is a grid itself imprinted on the green (the mowed in grids). They're fainter,
and they're harder to use since they vary in size from course to course. But,
this was how we did it in TW2002 and TW2003. Just get the feel again.
     - The bad part about these grids is that they're not "straight", so you're
using alot of geometry in your head to get the correct distances.
- Last tips on the putting: it never hurts to add a few inches to the length
of your putt, or not to subtract as much from the downhill putts. Just as in
real life, a putt with a little more speed will remove some of the break from
the ball. This will help make some of the more tricky putts. Either that or
get you to within tap-in distance.
- Finally: use the chipping method if you're not on the green. It's easier
than trying to line up your putt.
- Also, sometimes the caddy tip is unavailable. I use the chipping method then
too. It's easier to control the ball speed.

4) Windy Courses (greater than 10 mph)
- I personally don't like the punch shots. This is the "correct" type of shot
to use in the wind, but I think it's just as easy, if not better to use a
normal shot and just adjust your aim.
- You'll get better distance this way, and you don't have to adjust your normal
game as much.
- If you're hitting into the wind, club up and use max power boost. If you're
hitting down wind, club down and use no boost.
- Crosswinds are tougher. Just aim left or right according to the wind. If
the wind is really strong, use a fade or a draw to minimize the impact of the
wind. For example, if the wind is blowing from left to right, use a slight
draw to bring the ball in with the wind.

5) Rainy Courses
- Rain takes the roll out of the ball, but doesn't appear to effect distance
through the air. Thus driver shots will come up short of normal, since more
of their distance comes from roll. Wedge shots are almost unaffected since
more of their distance comes from the flight of the ball.
- Adjust accordingly - your drives will come up short of the aiming marker.
- On the other hand, your wedges will "stick" better to the green. No spin
required!

6) Hitting out of the sand (i.e. Sand Saves)
- Club up! Use the percentage listed next to your lie to judge what club to
use. For example, if the ball is "deep" and listed as 56% (one of the worst
you can get), then you need almost double the distance needed. So if you have
60 yards to the green, you need a club with about 115 yards distance.
- You can't use a driver or fairway wood effectively in the sand. Don't do it.
Lay up!
- The longer irons will sometimes not work well either (1, 2, 3, 4 iron).
Depends on the lie. If the bunker is steep, then lay up!
- Boost can help you get that extra kick coming out of the sand.

7) Hitting out of the rough
- Club up! Use the percentage listed next to your lie to judge what club to
use. For example, if you're 130 yards out, and the percentage is listed as
80%, you need to use a club with about 156 or so yards to hit the green.
- This only works partially. If you're trying to use a driver or fairway wood,
then you won't get that kind of distance. Lay up!
- If the lie is sloped badly, you won't get full power no matter what club you
use - Lay up!
- Use a little boost to get that extra kick. Using too much boost will make
you overfly the target... just as bad.

8) Shaping your shots
- Do the second tutorial after the Tour Card scenario to help learn this
critical skill.
- Fades and slices are to the right. You do these by pulling back to your
right during the back swing and pushing forward to the left on the forward
swing. The more to the right that you pull back, the more slice you'll impart.
- Draws and hooks are to the left. You do these by pulling back to your left
during the back swing and pushing forward to the right on your forward swing.
The more to the left that you pull back, the more hook you'll impart.
- Always start your aim more to the right if you're hooking the ball.
- Always start your aim more to the left if you're slicing the ball.
- How much to aim to the left or right is a matter of how much you're slicing
or hooking it. You'll just have to try a few to get a feel for how much to
adjust your aim.

9) Which clubs should you use?
- You have to carry one Driver, one 5 Iron, a Sand Wedge, and a putter.
- I personally think the best selection is:
    - 8.5 degree driver
    - 5 Wood
    - 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9 irons
    - Pitching Wedge (PW), Approach Wedge (AW), Sand Wedge (SW), Lob Wedge (LW)
    - Putter
- This selection gives you a nice distance between your driver and your 5 wood.
- The 1 Iron is more helpful than the 2 Iron since it is closer in distance to
the 5 wood.
- The 8 iron is not necessary. Under used club.
- The spacing between the 4 wedges above gives you a nice range to pick from
when you're close to the green.

10) How to get a full power boost on every shot
- One true fail-safe method is to buy a controller with a turbo button!
- But seriously, it's a matter of technique. Some people hold the controller
all awkwardly and tap their heart out.
- XBox: I personally hold the controller with my left hand. I swing the club
using the left analog stick using my left thumb. Then I hold the controller
against my right leg and tap with my right index finger on the white button.
- PS2: I personally hold the controller with my left hand. I swing the club
using the left analog stick using my right forefinger and thumb. Then I use
my left index finger to tap the L1 for power boost and later L2 for spin.
- Trial and error. Whatever works for you is fine.

11) Hitting around or through trees
- This can almost be like the unplayable lie sometimes - see below.
- You can thread the needle between trees. I've done this many times. It's
risky, but it can really help on the Predator and a few other courses.
- You can also use trees to stop your ball. Some fairways are really narrow.
If you hit the ball through trees on your way to that fairway, it will stop the
ball from rolling. Even with a driver! This can be a critical skill on the
tougher courses like the Predator.
- Just beware... often a tree will stop a ball dead and drop it where it hits
the tree.
- So, despite the adage that trees are 90% air, it really blows when you hit
the 10% that isn't air... Stay away from trees if possible.

12) The unplayable lie
- There are lies in the game where you just cannot get out. The Predator does
this to me alot. If I'm in some severe bushes, or behind a tree, it's almost
impossible to hit out of it, let alone reach the green.
- To get out of this, the only foolproof way (at least most of the time) is to
turn all the way around and hit it back onto the fairway.

13) Spinning the ball
- Spinning the ball is a huge deal in this game. It can make or break you on
the more difficult courses.
- For example, if you're hitting a driver or fairway wood shot to hit the
green in 2 shots on a par 5, then backspin is absolutely critical to stop the
ball on the green without it rolling through to the backside rough. This is
not always possible. Especially if your spin attribute is not maxed out. Then
you'll just need to just take something off the backspin.
- Spin has no effect at all on the flight of the ball. Unlike real life. If
you don't believe me, look in the manual. It says that spin effects are
applied after the ball is on the ground.
- Once you start the spin, you cannot stop it. You can change the direction to
minimize "damage" or you can slow your spin down by pushing the controller
slightly in the opposite direction and tapping the spin button. This will slow
the spin down.
- Techniques:
a) On drives, spin creates more distance. If you use forward spin, you will
get a further distance. If you use backwards spin, it will not stop a drive
from rolling, but it will keep the ball from rolling too far.
b) Spin will not get you out of a bunker. The ball just sticks.
c) Spin sometimes will help you get out of the rough. The ball loses a lot of
speed when it hits the rough, but if it's close to the edge of the fairway,
then sidespin will help it get to the fairway.
d) Due to the shorter flight time of the ball on pitch and chip shots, spinning
is almost futile. You can usually get a few button presses in on each to stop
the ball from rolling too far in the wrong direction.
e) On a par 3, if you get the heartbeat vibration right after you hit the ball,
do NOT spin the ball. I've gotten almost all my holes-in-one by NOT spinning
the ball. The CPU knows when the ball is heading for the hole right after you
hit it. Spinning it will just throw the ball offline. You won't always get
the hole-in-one this way, but it has worked for me.

Chapter 25) SECRETS, HINTS, COOL FEATURES

1) In the XBox version and the PS2 version, there are two special movies in the
EA Extras menu. One is entitled "Tribute to #1", the other is entitled "Bay
Hill #18." Both are about Tiger Woods. Sorry Gamecube fans! The disc is too
small to hold these movies, even though you have two of them with this game.

2) The Tiger Challenge scenario that you need to beat to get the Tracking Tiger
"Can You Beat Me?" ball is available only through a password. The password is
"sherwood target" all lower case. It's a 3 hole scenario vs. Tiger at the
Sherwood Country Club. Too bad this is the only place you can play this
course, and you only get the last three holes of it.
     - Prizes for winning: $45,000, Unlocking Wallaby Creek, Tracking Tiger
trophy ball, $500,000 bonus for the ball, and up to $5,000 in side games
(longest drive and closest to the pin).
     - You can only get the $500,000 bonus once.

3) Unlocking Cedric the Entertainer was covered above, but I'll add it in here
too: use "CEDDYBEAR" (without the quotes, but in all caps) at the password
screen. He's pretty entertaining. Ha Ha...
     - You have to re-enter this password after you turn off your machine if
you want to continue using Cedric. The game does not save him as un-
     locked.

4) When you enter a password, if you did it right, you'll hear Tiger say "Oh,
yeah". If you do it wrong, you'll hear Tiger say "That's not good".

5) There are introductory FMVs at the beginning of each "real-life" tournament,
such as the Bay Hill Invitational.
     - Tiger will also present you with the trophy in an FMV for the Bay Hill
tournament, and for the The Players Championship (TPC). The Bay Hill
trophy is really cool - a mini sword.

6) Tiger will congratulate you when you are selected for PGA Tour Player of the
Month with a FMV (January and February).
     - I've also seen Justin Rose (March) and Ty Tryon (April) congratulate
you for being player of the month.

7) Watch for the sasquatch in the trees on Sahalee CC hole #17. No joke.

8) John Daly will congratulate you in a FMV for your first major victory.
     - The first major is the "Southern Major Championship" at Pinehurst
No. 2. It's the 11th tournament in the PGA Tour Season.

Chapter 26) YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED

- This posting of email questions is NOT meant to ridicule or poke fun. There
are no stupid questions. What I assume to be obvious may not be to others.
Also, some of these questions were really good ones too.

- Ask away and I'll answer your questions here...
Email: blackwidow_gamefaqs@hotmail.com

- "T N" writes: "how do I purchase a 5 wood?? All the fairway woods I see are
3 woods... Please advice. Thanks!"
     - My response: You don't purchase a specific wood. For example, you only
buy "fairway woods" from the pro shop menu. Once you have a specific
fairway wood, you can go to the "in the bag" menu and select either the
3W, 5W, or the 7W from that type of specific fairway wood.

- "ralston4" writes: I am playing on the PC, and I was wondering if there is
any tie into the way to achieve a sponsorship. I rejected the first two offers,
Ping and Maxfli, hoping someone else would offer. I didnt believe that you
could have more than one sponsor. I have played well into the champion mode of
TWG 2004 and still have not been offered another sponsorship. Do you know
of any way to improve chances of obtaining sponsorship? Wearing more gear
of a particular sponsor? Does it have to do with the tournament you play
in? Do you have to play all the tournaments to unlock a specific sponsor?
     - My response: As far as I know, the PC version is very different from
the console version. In the consoles, you get to have all 11 sponsors at
one time. In the PC version, I've heard (only by reading message boards)
that you only get 1 sponsor. I'm not sure what the triggering events are
in the PC version either. In the console versions, it appears to come at
a regular interval based off of your game completion stats or your
overall earnings. I might try the PC version in the future if I get a
chance, but until then, let me know if you figure it out. Sorry I can't
be of more help to you!

- "Nick" writes: I have been playing Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004 for awhile now
and I have no clue as to what the Side Games are on each hole in the PGA
Tournament. Is there something that I have to do in order to get the money
for it?
     - My response: I get this question a lot - Side Games: in 2003 they were
     1) closest to the pin ($2500), 2) longest drive ($2500), and 3) hole in
one ($100K) that occurred during tournaments.
In 2004, I've only seen them during the Tiger Challenge Target Tournament
where you play Tiger for 3 holes. (password: sherwood target). I haven't
seen them at all anywhere else in the game. Maybe there's a glitch in the
game? Not sure. But they definitely occur with less frequency during
     2004 than during 2003.

- "Gary" writes: I am trying to play the pga tour with my buddy at home but
the game will only let one of us play at a time. Is there anything that i am
doing wrong? Is there no way for both of us to play it at the same time from
the same xbox?
     - My response: Sorry... this is one of the biggest complaints that people
have about this years game. Used to be in TW2003 that you could do this.
For some reason they pulled that option out in TW2004...

- "Chris" writes: Apologies if you deal with this somewhere in your very full
FAQ - do you know if Penguin Falls is available in the gamecube version?
     - My response: Thanks Chris for pointing out that the Gamecube version
does NOT have the Penguin Falls course. Yet another way GC owners were
shafted. But of course, when TW2004 for the GBA comes out, they'll have
     their connectivity.

- "Simon" writes: On a real time event I recently played the weather was
raining. I thought nothing strange about this until I checked my game options
and they had been changed to rain in the weather section. Is this because I
played an RTE in the Autumn which can be pretty wet anyway?
     - My response: Some of the RTE's take place in the rain, just like some
of the scenarios. It's supposed to add to the challenge.

- "Paul" writes: I am not sure how to make my golfer look like me. What can i
do to send my pic to someone that can send the settings to me so i can make my
golfer look like me?
     - My response: Like I stated in the FAQ, I'm not an artist, and no one
has responded to me yet with their creations or whether or not they're up
to doing custom ones, so we'll have to wait and see.

- "Todd" writes: How do you change the coarse difficulty? Mine is always easy.
I'm shooting like 16 under par every round.
     - My response: It depends. The actual course difficulties are set in
stone. For example, TPC Sawgrass is always a medium difficulty course.
The only thing you can change is the pin locations and the tee locations.
If it's a PGA Tour Season tournament, the tee locations are automatically
set to black (the hardest), and the pin locations go from easy on day 1
to expert on day 4. You can't change them in that mode, scenario mode,
or World Tour mode. They're preset. But, if you're playing online or
playing traditional modes, you can change the pin locations and the tee
     locations.

- "Matthew" writes: i can't switch any of my clubs when i go to the pro shop
and "in the bag". When ever i change them in "in the bag" they don't change
when i go to play and im stuck with my original clubs which i don't want. How
do i make the clubs i put in my bag useable in the game?
     - My response: First, which version are you using? I have had this
problem once with the XBox version, but not with the PS2 version.
Here's what you can try: change your clubs, save your game immediately.
Then play a round. If the clubs are still the default ones, then try
this: change your clubs, save your game, turn off the system, turn it
back on, play a round. If it's still default, try changing them right
     after you turn it on.
It's a new feature this year that lets you save your club configuration
(TW2003 it would never save it), so I'm sure there are bound to be a few
     bugs in it.

- "Brody" writes: I have absolutely no idea what the Bio Level 4 is. To unlock
some items in the pro shop you need to reach this level and I dont know what to
do. Could you please help me out?
     - My response: They're talking about the EA Sports Bio. To activate this,
go into "My Tour" from the menu. It's the first option on that screen.
It takes up some space on your memory card though.
What it does is track your playing time, your big achievements (like
getting trophy balls, winning tournaments, etc.) and your time playing
other EA Sports games (only 2004 versions though...)
So, after a certain amount of time (not sure how much), you'll get to Bio
level 4. I'm at 8 on mine with just over a day's worth of playing time
(but I started it late - I should be almost double or triple that).
