The Dark Meadow: launch trailer for Phosphor Games' lush first-person iOS adventure

With Infinity Blade having proven that iOS games don't have to be all about social media integration or scaled-down knockoffs of real titles, Apple fans have been waiting for the next big platform-proving hit. Enter the new trailer for Phosphor Games Unreal Engine 3 powered adventure, The Dark Meadow. It’s packing a smidge of Silent Hill, a taste of FEAR, and just enough indie-flavored ambiguity to keep you on your toes. Check it out.

The Dark Meadow – which hits the App Store Oct 6 – uses the Unreal 3 Engine and what appears to be an Infinity Blade-influenced control system to propel players through a twisted take on folklore and fairytale. The game's developers are veterans of console development since the mid-90s – project head Chip Sineni's resume spans everything from Nickelodeon games for the SNES to John Woo's Stranglehold – but this is the studio's first stab at establishing its very own IP. Further glimpses are available at the game's website: are you looking forward to exploring deeper?
