Dark Souls 2 patch will add a ton of stuff (for free) in February
The real Dark Souls starts here
If you already own Dark Souls 2, From Software and Bandai Namco are treating you right which is only fair, given all the pain and suffering they put you through in the course of the game. As you may already know, all the tweaks and new content planned for Dark Souls 2: The Scholar of the First Sin on PC, PS4, and Xbox One (aside from improved visuals, naturally) were simultaneously confirmed as planned updates for the original versions.
Now the date for the patch and its planned changes have been revealed, and boy howdy, it is a doozy. The update will roll out across PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 on February 4 (a few days before the new-gen version releases) adding everything from new characters to new items to mechanical refinements - check the official post for a more detailed rundown. Be sure to click on for some screenshots of the new stuff you can expect to encounter after the update.
I hope you brought your duelin' thigh-highs
Battle through the fire and flames
"I'll, uh, I'll just be going then"
Phollow the phantoms!
At least the ice will keep the swelling down?
Giant wolves have giant appetites
You could really pay your respects by mowing that damn grass
Ain't nobody touchin' Mr. Bandages' barrels but him
I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
