Mmm. Car porn. I'm being forced by friends to pick up Forza. Being a Burnout man myself, it's a tough sell, but I think the HKs and Walthers pointed towards me make the purchase a little easier to stomach. Can you guys put those away? Please? reCAPCHA: packard Bell

SHIFT is going to be a great game, by the looks and hands-on. It will be nice to have a realistic racing game since GT5:P dropped the ball hardcore.

Don't care much for sim racing games but might have to check these out. (also first. can't resist)

i still think Forza 3 is gonna be way better.. im not really a fan of the NFS games, so maybe its just me.

I am eagerly counting the seconds until Forza 3. 2 was my first ever sim racer, and it was freaking great. Never before had I played a racer without trying to crash people (well, I did that a little too, but still)! The tuning and customizing was the best, though, because I never thought I could get so excited about shaving seconds off of my lap time. For me, GT for PSP has 800 cars, so I think it's a bit pathetic that NFSS has like 65. That's a bit lazy. And yes, I use almost all of the cars. You need certain cars for a certain track because of how they can be tuned. I highly doubt NFSS can make me enjoy the meager amount of content they're trying to fill their game with. Money-grabbing, really. It'll sell well too, which is really a shame. Hopefully NFS will be dead by next iteration, especially if they start charging real money for retarded useless crap like in Carbon. Goodbye NFS, say hello to the future: GT5 and FM3.

my choice would be nfs shift

Yeah, I'm a GT fanboy (look at my avatar) but I'm actually looking forward to both these games. 400 cars and the inclusion of Nurburgring and Le Mans makes Forza 3 seem like a clear winner to me (although I'm sure Shift will be really good too).

Umm yeah. I've had it with NFS. I just can't like it anymore. I haven't liked it as much as I loved the first Underground. But FM3 on the other hand, that looks awesome. I'm so getting it. I loved FM2 and drifted the hell out of it as well.

Forza 3 seems way better. The only thing I'm excited about in SHIFT is the "concussion" effect when you hit a wall. Or the "tunnel vision" when you hit 100mph... BUT, Forza just seems so god damn fun. Plus idc about some lil mini-game thing bullshit. I just wanna race...in the cockpit!
  • Tomsta666 - June 19, 2009 2:26 p.m.

Giant meh for these games. Sorry. The only racing games ive ever cared about is the Mario Kart series, and more recently Burnout Paradise. If I wanted a realistic driving experiance...you know...I would just a drive a real car.
  • likedamaster - June 19, 2009 11:57 a.m.

I never thought Shift was a slouch since I first saw the vids. Although, I do prefer Forza 3. off topic/ ($5,700 strung)<--code to post wtf?

definately shift for me, looks like the best since carbon (my favourite so far). i've wanted to say this for a while-what qualifications do u need for gaming journalism? it's my most wanted job.
  • RealTerry - June 19, 2009 5:32 a.m.

But the rewind feature was already used in GRID. Though it was called "flashback" but still.
  • GearsofRabies - June 19, 2009 3:50 a.m.

I'm sold on SHIFT. The footage they showed at ea's e3 conference with the cockpit view blew me away. I became immersed in a choppy streaming video. It has to be good if it can do that.
  • michaelmcc827 - June 19, 2009 1:10 a.m.

I really can't believe no one's said this yet, but NFS Shift looks way way way too much like Grid to me. (Grid also had rewind feature). For this I'll prob pick up forza, even though I'm a die-hard NFS fan. I've already played GRID, I don't need to again. It was great though... great article btw. and gt5 wasn't in the mix cause it wasnt at e3, and won't be released in our lifetime. recaptcha: great thoughts ...indeed
