Diablo III won’t release on PS4 until 2014, Blizzard has confirmed in an interview with DiabloFans. While the game was recently given a September 3 launch date on PS3 and Xbox 360, Blizzard has said it wants to make the most of what each platform has to offer, rather than simply pumping out standard ports. To that effect, it's exploring ways to make use of the DualShock 4’s touchpad and share button. Among other features, the former is expected to be used to make UI and inventory navigation more intuitive.
The console versions of Diablo III will support a four-player co-op mode, either locally on a single screen, online, or through a combination of the two. We played the game on current-gen hardware at E3 and the real surprise was that it might just be better on consoles than its native PC - find out why in this Diablo III preview. Blizzard remains tight-lipped on whether it plans to release an Xbox One version of the game.
