The best Christmas sales for gamers 2024: I've handpicked the 27 best PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox deals this holiday season
Record-low prices on some of the year's biggest releases
1. Quick links
2. PS5 deals
3. Xbox deals
4. Switch deals
5. PC deals
This year's Christmas sales are upon us, and with discounts hitting PS5, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC like never before things are looking pretty strong. Amazon is switching it up at the moment, though. Some offers have been removed from the shelves in the last few days (though Walmart is picking up the slack when it comes to Astro Bot and Lego Horizon Adventures), and others added. However, there's still plenty to check out as we lead up to the big day.
I've been tracking Christmas sales for over five years now, so I know where the biggest deals are most likely to drop and when to avoid savings that aren't as good as they look. I also spend my entire year going hands-on with all the latest tech and tracking prices across the biggest gadgets, games, and gizmos on the market. That means I know what a good deal actually looks like, and the accessories you need to be watching out for this holiday season.
I've put all that experience to good use here, rounding up the 27 best Christmas sales for PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox players just below. Everything on this list has my personal stamp of recommendation, and has been price checked to ensure those numbers actually do represent good value for money.

Save $75 - If you already know you don't need a physical disc drive from the start, it's well worth grabbing this $374 record-low price on the digital edition. This is a holdout from Black Friday, but before then I'd only ever seen $50 off that original price.

✅ You don't have any old PS4 discs
✅ You want to spend as little as possible
Don't buy it if:
❌ You're banking on picking up a disc drive separately

Save $75.99 - If you want it all from the start, the full disc based console is also available for a record-low price at Amazon. The PS5 Slim has only dipped to $449 in the past, but this holiday sale has it down by an additional $25.

Save $30 - I've seen Final Fantasy VII at $49.99 only a couple of times this year, but Black Friday shunted those numbers all the way down to $39.99 last month. This has been full-price since then, but Amazon has returned to a record-low rate in its latest Christmas sales.

✅ You enjoyed Astro's Playroom
✅ You like collectathons
Don't buy it if:

Buy it if:
✅ You want to use it handheld
✅ You want multiplayer options from day one
✅ You want to play online
Don't buy it if:
❌ You want to play mostly in docked mode
16. Nintendo Switch Mario Kart 8 Deluxe + 12 months Nintendo Switch Online | $299 at Walmart
While the OLED version of this bundle has dropped off the shelves now, Walmart still has the Nintendo Switch Mario Kart bundle for just $299. Christmas sales: FAQ
When do Christmas sales start?
Christmas sales generally start kicking off once Black Friday has closed its doors - but this year I saw holiday sales doing the rounds as early as mid-November. Amazon branded its own discounts as 'holiday' offers around this time, simply rolling with a selection of savings throughout the entire deals period and up to today.
When do Christmas sales end?
Christmas sales generally come to an end around the big day itself (though it's worth noting that shipping dates for gift delivery tend to halt around December 19). However, once the festivities close out there are always a few After Christmas sales to get involved with as well.
Should you wait for January sales instead?
While there are going to be some head-turning reductions in this year's January sales, the truth is that they won't likely be much better than the current After Christmas sales. If you see something you like now, don't hesitate to pick it up as a result.
