Double Fine working with Sega on upcoming adventure game?

For the past week, the principle designer behind one of Double Fine's upcoming adventure games, Ron Gilbert, has been posting cryptic pictures of characters on his blog. Characters that will one day populate an adventure game, though not the now-famous Double Fine Kickstarter game.

The images he posted appeared in a jagged outline pattern, and now we know why. Those jigsaw character pictures fit perfectly into a landscape that publisher SEGA released today, leaving little doubt that some sort of collaboration is now underway between the two companies.

Unfortunately, both companies are still quiet on the issue and have not doled out any information about what this might entail, though it seems quite likely that SEGA will be lending its publishing muscle to support Ron Gilbert's endeavors while Tim Schafer is hard at work on the Kickstarter game.

Right now, we're hearing that SEGA will have more to say on the matter on Thursday, though beyond that, we have no idea what they might have to say.

I feel like I'm the only person who wants Brutal Legend 2

I Usually disagree with every point you ever make on this site, this one I'll Agree with I Don't care if the RTS'ing was slightly naff in its execution. Jack black was in his Prime Element. (Film producers take note. jack Black is a fan of rock and metal. Not Shitty comedys like Year one or Gullivers travels, but great films like School of rock) The world was gorgeous, the Lore was interesting. The references were executed perfectly without being in your face. The ozzy osbourne Bat will stay in my memory forever. The combat was great. I put it in, played it until I collapsed into bed from exhaustion, got up, carried on playing. When I Wasn't doing the missions, i was just simply exploring, looking for all the hidden stuff, and just taking in the world. It is the second game i own where i have found every collectible. The first was Assassins creed 2, and i used a map for that one. Every time I read double fine's name, I read it in jack blacks screaming voice. I would still even now be playing the multiplayer if I Didnt suck at it so much. Double Fine, your games are great and all, But Make Brutal Legend 2 Already. Give it Co-op, maybe with a selection of playable metal inspired characters, tighten up the RTS mechanic, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD KEEP THE OLD CAST. Bring back the old baddies, but make new ones and bring the stereotypes more up to date, to fit with todays rock/metal scene (I'm sure metalheads would love pounding in the skulls of linkin park/ Nu-Metal fans) Easily the biggest surprise hit for me ever, heres hoping we see something at E3

All of the games Ron Gilbert has worked on are hilarious and fun, so I'm excited to see what they're working on.
