E3 2010: Rayman Origins announced

Shares

Near the end of their conference, Ubisoft showed off a trailer for Rayman Origins. It's a 2D side-scroller with a ton of personality, and Michel Ancel, the creator of the series, as well as Beyond Good & Evil, is behind it. Artsy! The game is related two a new set of game development tools which Ancel is working on.

We don't have any details on the game, other than what we can glean from the trailer, which is mostly that it looks damn pretty:

Interesting, Rayman could be quite good if handled right

Yeah that looked really cool on my huge TV, must have! The only time I played a Rayman game was on an emulator.

This is awesome. However, the revival of Rayman while BG&E2 is left behind was a strange event indeed: why did they avoid talking about the *other* Michel Ancel property, especially after they talked about it not two weeks ago?

Fun! Rayman 2 was probably my favorite game on the dreamcast. I just hope Rayman doesn't talk in this one.

i bet it has co-op judging from the trailer. that other thing is supposed to be rayman's brother. also ubisoft totally stole nintendo's vitality sensor. but in ubisoft's defense nintendo had no idea what they were going to do with it
