E3 2011: Battlefield 3 for PS3 shipping with free copy of Battlefield 1943
Try saying that announcement three times fast...
PlayStation 3 ownerswillreceive a little something extra with their copies of Battlefield 3 this fall. Sony has revealed all copies of DICE's war-time shooter for the PS3 will ship with a bonus copy of Battlefield 1943, EA's online multiplayer spin-off of the popular franchise.
”EA is using the extra storage capacity of Blu-Ray to add a second game, Battlefield 1943 to the disc. That extra and exclusive content is a critical differentiator for PlayStation,” said SCEA CEO Jack Tretton, during Sony's E3 presser.
Trettor added this free offering will make the PS3 version of Battlefield 3 “bigger and better” than anything the competition has to offer. Considering no exclusive perks have yet been revealed for the Xbox 360 or PC, that looks to be the case. For now, at least.
Battlefield 3deploys for thePS3, Xbox 360 and PC on October 25th.
