The makers of Dear Esther, UK-based developer The Chinese Room, is bringing its new game, Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, to PlayStation 4. The game had previously been known to be coming to PC but the console version appears to be a Sony exclusive at present.
Set in 1984, the game ‘begins with the end of the world’, according to the trailer, which was shown during Sony’s Gamescom press conference in Cologne. The trailer depicted a cathode tube ray television set (hey - we said it was set in the '80s) and some naturalistic visuals rendered in CryEngine 3. There is a large eclipse in the sky and dead birds on the floor… but little else to go on. We’re certainly intrigued.
We’ll bring you more on Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture as soon as we have it.
