Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon teaser site is only part prank
Add-on gives the shooter a sci-fi makeover
What the hell, Ubisoft. You put up this ridiculous teaser website for Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon on April Fool's Day, so everybody who just looks at the headline and teaser video below will think we got duped.
"The year is 2007. It is the future," the website taunts, each syllable humming like a neon No Smoking sign. "Earth has been ravaged by a nuclear war and new paths for peace must be found. A U.S. cyborg army may have found a solution: a powerful bioweapon on a distant island. A Mark IV Cyber Commando, Sergeant Rex Power Colt has been sent over to gather information and figure out what the hell is going on."
But we haven't been duped! Or if we have, the '80s sci-fi action movie riffing parody is one of the most elaborate gaming pranks we've seen, since ratings, art, and achievements for the presumed downloadable content leaked throughout March.
We don't know if Blood Dragon will add on to Far Cry 3 or if it will stand alone. But given this subliminal-speed footage in the trailer, Jason "Turns Out Killing Pirates is Pretty Fun You Guys" Brody can't hold a candle to Sergeant Rex Power Colt.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
