Gears of War
Developers confident about hitting deadline
Gears of War could well be with us this fall after the lead designer revealed that Epic Games is doing all it can to get the shooter finished quickly.
Cliff Bleszinski, lead designer at Epic, appeared on an MTV documentary about Xbox 360, which also featured Microsoft chief Bill Gates. Gates turned to Bleszinski (or Cliffy B as he's affectionately dubbed) and asked him if Gears of War would be ready this fall, to which he replied, "We'll make it happen."
With Halo 3 not due for a release this year, Microsoft is keen for a high-profile 360 exclusive to be released around the time of the PS3 launch, and Gears of Wars fits the bill perfectly - it was one of the most impressive games shown at this year's E3.
