Heavy figures come with a hefty price tag

Shares

Valve seems to be on a mission to empty our wallets and take over all our free desk space. Last week, the company caught our eyes with the Left 4 Dead Boomer Plush. Today, Gaming Heads, a company that’s working with Valve to produce Team Fortress 2 merchandise, announced that they are accepting pre-orders for this amazing Heavy figure. It comes in both Team RED and Team BLU flavors, and is the first of Gaming Heads Team Fortress 2-themed merchandise.

Above: These Heavy figures are the first of Gaming Head's upcoming Team Fortress 2 product line, so hopefully they won't be without a friendly Medic for long

Above: You've got to love how they perfectly captured the Heavy's crazy grin

The sculpture was created with the help of the Team Fortress 2 game files to ensure that it is perfectly proportioned, stands 13 inches tall (with the base), is cast in poly-stone, and is hand painted. The only downside is that the heavy duty detail comes with a hefty price tag. $229.99 is the asking price for this detailed piece of craftsmanship. But to be fair, it costs $400,000 to fire the Heavy’s favorite gun, Sasha, for just 12 seconds. So maybe the cost of this figurine isn’t so expensive after all.

Polystone is always expensive... as for the figure itself if, it does look perfectly proportioned. But i prefer my half naked chick anime polystones over a fat guy wielding a minigun polystone figure.

Wow, that looks AWESOME, would go really well next to my Boba Fett figurine. Also, there is a typo at the end of the first paragraph, you put "line o" instead of "line of".

I like that you specify that a character with a flat chin and hard edges is perfectly proportioned.

tf2 is a fun game but this is way to expensive.

Why are these not pre-order bonuses? Hell I think that at the very least companies should offer themes for the systems they sell on instead of those lame "gold" guns, Im looking at you Gears of War.

I remember seeing a Pyro figure some fan had made on Ebay a while back which was way bigger than these and, IIRC, even had a little flame on his flamethrower as if ready to ignite a good spurt! I have to say that accurate as these are I'd really have preferred the Pyro I saw-it was brilliant. I think the same guy does commissions but the one on Ebay was already at a few hundred when I saw it after it had been on for about two days! I think it was about a year ago-feel free to correct me if anyone else saw it and remembers any clearer than my addled, aged mind managed!

I don't even have 2.29 so I don't see me getting this. I hope someone will do a quality cheaper one...
