'Holy crushed expectations, Batman!' Arkham City won't let you drive the Batmobile

If you'd been hoping to ride the Batmobile, Batboat, Batwing or the lesser known Batmoped in Arkham City, prepare for some bad news. A developer at Rocksteady has recently confirmed the Dark Knight will have to best the Joker and co. without the help of his ass-kicking rides, because there won't be any playable vehicles in Bats' upcoming adventure.

Speaking to GamesTM, Rocksteady's Sefton Hill said: "There aren't any playable vehicles in the game. What we've really focused on is Batman himself. We see him as the ultimate vehicle."

To be honest, this is hardly a huge blow. Although the Batmobile and Batwing both appeared in Arkham Asylum, you couldn't drive or pilot them. We still suspect they'll appear in the game's cutscenes. After all, one of the Bat's most badass moments in Rocksteady's original was sponsored by some spleen-shattering Batmobile action...

Never mind Bat fans. Just take solace in the fact we'll soon be kicking the crap out of a virtual Harvey Dent.
