Sony has announced plans to include a The Last of Us demo with copies of God of War: Ascension.
Writing on the PlayStation Blog, Naughty Dog community strategist Eric Monacelli said the demo will provide early access to one chapter of the studio’s highly anticipated action game.
He also labelled the taster “an exclusive demo”, suggesting that it won’t go on general release. This raises the question of whether Sony could also launch an alternative demo, perhaps even some form of The Last of Us multiplayer taster, having confirmed only last month that the title will feature an online component.
Loading God of War: Ascension will bring up a The Last of Us listing on the main menu offering details on how to access the demo “as soon as it becomes available”, meaning it won’t necessarily be ready in time for the God of War: Ascension release date of March 12 in the US and March 15 in the UK. The Last of US release date has been nailed down as May 7.
In related news, a God of War: Ascension demo offering a slice of the single-player campaign will be released in late February.
