"Make her playable": Check out these Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer reactions
The second trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2 gave people a lot to talk about: a new main character who seems to revel in the scoundrel life, a train heist, some understated connections to the first game, and more. Generally speaking, people are pretty excited and the fan theories are already beginning to take shape, though there are some concerns brewing too. Take a look at what the internet thinks so far.
Most folks seem pretty excited

Red Dead Redemption 2 💯💯🔥🔥 #damnstraightSeptember 28, 2017
The train robbery scene in the new RDR2 trailer seemed to give a slight hat tip to the classic scene from the movie. https://t.co/iyg7pksZdc pic.twitter.com/WqGOPoduFYSeptember 28, 2017

Me, I just love train heists. Give me a dedicated "train heist" mission type and I'll be a happy cowpoke forever.
There's still reason to temper your hype
My feelings towards RDR2 are lukewarm. I would love to be able to play someone who isn't an asshole guy. I do not like playing asshole guys.September 28, 2017
i must be missing something because the rdr2 trailer was so fucking underwhelmingSeptember 28, 2017
RDR2 not on pc? Feels badSeptember 28, 2017
The original Red Dead Redemption remains a console exclusive to this day. It looks like Red Dead Redemption 2 will follow suit, at least at launch.
Will there be a character switcheroo?
I want her name, @RockstarGames! #RDR2 pic.twitter.com/bKPfmdx2oSSeptember 28, 2017
This is it. It's time. Make her playable, @RockstarGames. #RDR2 #RedDeadRedemption2 pic.twitter.com/W4QLJjtYRrSeptember 28, 2017
I predict @RockstarGames might be pulling an MGS2 on us. You might start as Arthur, but this is your main character #RDR2 pic.twitter.com/VW9A5bAcjZSeptember 28, 2017
Rockstar's never done a big, open-world game with a woman protagonist before (unless you count the player-made avatars of GTA Online). It would be pretty cool for the studio to buck that trend with Red Dead Redemption 2, whether via multiple characters like GTA 5 or a full on switch over.
Here's what we're all really thinking

That's just a sampling of all the discussion out there - and there's bound to be plenty more by the time Red Dead Redemption 2's spring 2018 release window rolls around.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo.
