Mirror's Edge-style office escape demands your eyes' attention

Shares

We're playing right into the hands (mouths?) of Biting Elbows by running this. But what are we meant to do? Their promo video for the song The Stampede is a direct video response to the Mirror's Edge trailer on YouTube, and with good reason. It's exactly like the game. Only with live action in real locations, ridiculously high production values and surprisingly impressive special effects. It also contains pixelised nudity, so be warned if that sort of thing offends you.

To be honest, we didn't really listen to the song, which probably defeats the object of a music video... but then when did that ever stop MTV? Yep, you know what they say: Videogames killed the radio star.

Reminded me of the Postal games, especially when he kicked the door. The music was meeeh but as a whole it was beautiful.

OK, that was pretty great. The song wasn't... BRILLIANT... but the video was. Kinda matrix-esque. The bit where he threw the wet floor sign at the agent had me in bits.

This makes me wish yet again that I was a bit athletic. Cool vid anyway.

It just goes to show that if people really wanted to, they could make a great video game based movie.

Brilliant! I agree with the others, we need another Mirrors Edge. I'd love if they updated the combat to be more like the loading screens.

I felt bad for the bearded guy because he looked like Mikel Reparaz for half a second...

  • Net_Bastard - September 21, 2011 9:24 a.m.

How did they find a building that looked exactly like an early level in Mirrors Edge? Anyway, this just makes me really want a sequel.

Very cool, first person music videos are a must. I'd like to see the making of too.

Those parts reminded me of AAAaaaAAA- A Reckless Disregard for Gravity. i.e., awesome!
  • Plan10FromOuterSpace - September 21, 2011 5:59 a.m.

that's really cool, and it really did feel VERY mirrors edge. Speaking of which I really hope they made a sequel to that game, despite all its flaws I stand by it being brilliant, and hopefully a sequel can iron out all those issues like the puzzles or the lame combat.

Beautiful piece of work, especially the second half on the roof. Exactly like Mirror's Edge
  • Hobogonigal - September 21, 2011 5:19 a.m.

That was all kinds of awesome. This makes me want Mirrors Edge 2 even more now!
