NBA Live 13 announced for fall, NBA Elite no more

NBA Live is heading back to the courts. Today, EA announced plans to resurrect its famed basketball series this fall in NBA Live 13.

“We have a new studio and a new development team, and this fall we’ll launch an all-new experience that captures the future of basketball with NBA Live 13,” wrote EA. “We’re looking forward to players giving us their feedback on the game, and next month we’ll welcome in fans from around the country to join in on the process of creating NBA LIVE 13 as well .”

NBA Live 13 will see EA going back to its time-honored NBA simulation franchise after a failed experiment with NBA Elite, and the well-received NBA JAM. EA has already had a number of NBA ballers through its Florida-based studio to give NBA Live 13 a test run, including Cleveland Cavaliers' Kyrie Irving who outed the game yesterday, tweeting, “In Orlando for #AllStar checking out the #FutureOfBasketball with @EASPORTSNBA. Get to see the new #NBALIVE13!”

Future of basketball, eh? We'll have to see if that predication pans out this fall. In the meantime, EA promises to spill more details on its NBA Live 13 Facebook page next week.
