Someone needs to send a memo over to the folks at EA Sports- the PS2 still matters. Heck, these days it's outselling the PS3 by leaps and bounds, so obviously there's a ton of gamers who love firing up their venerable console even as developers and publishers exhaust gobs of time and money building next-generation titles. Despite this fact, though, there's no doubt that this season's March Madness is nothing but an afterthought.
Everything about the PS2 version of March Madness 08 feels exactly as its last few predecessors did. Same action relying heavily on post play? Check. Same camera angles? Check. Familiarity is good, but this is above and beyond that in the worst kind of way. Heck, even Dick Vitale's best quips are all ones we've heard before- who, exactly, is EA trying to fool this time around?
