Nostalgia-fueled remakes can be a bit of a gamble. Sure, people will say they want an old game series to come back, but is that indicative of a larger audience or is it just a small, vocal group of hardcore fans? So it was a little surprising to see that the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy not only had strong sales during its debut week, but it had the strongest sales of any platform exclusive in 2017 (at least in the UK).
GamesIndustry reports that the reworked PlayStation classics beat out Horizon: Zero Dawn for the top spot in terms of platform exclusives, and was second only to Ghost Recon: Wildlands in terms of overall sales during a game's first week on the shelves. And that's very good news for those hoping to see an all-new adventure starring everyone's favorite marsupial.
In a separate interview, Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg told GamesIndustry that the company is "experimenting" with Crash. "So far, we are seeing some real passion for it, so that could lead to other things," he said. As long as we don't go back to Tribal Tattoos Crash, I'd be okay with that. But what say you? Has the N.
