It's like, how much more grey could this be? And the answer is none. None more grey...

Today, Activision released a small batch of new screenshots for Modern Warfare 3 today, showing off a skirmish taking place on a monochromatic street. When compared to other images and trailers of Call of Duty games it's... actually fairly tame. There are few explosions, fewer buildings collapsing, and even fewer nuclear weapons blowing up. Wait, huh? We thought this was a Call of Duty game! Things really have changed now that the old Infinity Ward team is gone.

It sure does look pretty, though. We’re sure that many of you have better eyes for Call of Duty nuances than we do, so take a look and tell us what you think. Are there any new guns in there? Can you figure out where it is they're fighting? It sort of looks like it might be in the US – maybe even NYC – but it's so zoomed-in that we can't tell. Then again, if it was NYC we're pretty confident that the Statue of Liberty's head would be on the street somewhere, since that seems to happen whenever things go south in NYC.

Is it me or does it look like an RPG has just hit the guy in the third pic and he's just shrugged it off?

    Pshhh....color. Who needs it?

Concrete is grey. Smoke is grey. Soldiers wear camouflage to blend into their surroundings. Therefore urban camo is grey. Not necessarily the devs' fault - if it was set in the jungle/arctic circle/middle east everyone would be saying how green/white/beige everything looks.

Hey! I saw some blue in the first pic!

Mr. Kotick, how can we make this game even cheeper to produce and sh-t out yearly? Kotick: "Well rendering color is just a waste of money!"

It's kinda funny how people berate this series for not having any color, when there are multiplayer levels like the Airport and Nuketown in the COD series. I'm not a COD fan by any means, but seriously there are much worse offenders when it comes to barely any color in games. The Airport level looked like something straight out of Mirror's Edge, for dick's sake! I have a PC, so I'm getting BF3.

Technically the sky, police car and traffic light could be grey.

This year's shooter season really couldn't get any simpler. If you have a PC, buy BF3. If you have a 360/PS3/Wii, buy MW3.

    I have a PC and I'm buying Serious Sam 3 =D

    Also a valid option.

You could make it even simpler. Whatever console you have, just buy BF3. Unless you have a wii. Then your screwed.
