Japanese game mag Famitsu has outed a crossover title for the 3DS that will borrow key characters from Sega, Namco Bandai, and Capcom's roster. The title, called Project X Zone (aka Project “Cross” Zone) is billed as a strategy RPG wherein players will select a pair of fighters and put them to work in various fighting scenes.

According to the overseas website Sinobi (as translated by Andriasang) the character pairings from each studio will include:

Sega

Shinguji Sakura and Ogami Ichiro - Sakura Wars
Pai and Akira - Virtua Fighter
Kurt and Riela - Valkyria Chronicles
Ulala and Touma - Space Channel 5 and Shining Force EXA

Capcom

Ryu & Ken - Street Fighter 0
X and Zero - Mega Man
Demitri and Dante - Darkstalkers and Devil May Cry
Chris and Jill - Resident Evil

Namco Bandai

Sanger Somvold - Super Robot Wars
Jin and Ling Xiaoyu – Tekken
Kos-Mos and T-elos - Xenosaga
Yurie and Estel - Tales of Vesperia
Kaito and Black Rose - .hack

While we wait for details, let us know what you make of Sega, Capcom, and Namco Bandai's group effort.

UPDATE: The first screens for the game have been posted on Japanese gaming site Famitsu. Check out all the new images above!
