PS3 players start CoD: Black Ops refund petition

Fed up with the number of bugs plaguing the PS3 version of Call of Duty: Black Ops, players have begun an online petition seeking refunds for what's being called an inferior version of the multi-platform title.

Almost immediately after the launch of Black Ops, PS3 owners began criticizing the game forbugs and glitches, ranging from almost-humorous image rendering problems to unexplained crashes. Xbox 360 users, meanwhile, have had a smoother ride. There had been some lag problems on the PC but they have supposedly been fixed up.

Meanwhile, despite patches to the PS3 version, some players are still reporting issues that are nowhere to be found on the other platform versions.

Thepetitionposes the question, "Is it fair to charge PlayStation 3 owners the same price for an inferior product, when the previous version (Modern Warfare 2) was equal on both systems but the updated version (BO) is not?"

"We are requesting a full refund for Call of Duty: Black Ops!"

More than 1,000 people have signed the petition in the span of the last six days. That's a bit more than a blip on the radar, but unlikely to be enough for publisher Activision to take seriously. We presume that Treyarch will continue to release PS3 patches to soothe the unrest.
