Great podcast guys, it was nice hearing Sophia in the podcast with you guys. Yeah your right about the Edgegrabbing, your air control and damage taken will be part of how long you'll be able to hang on, also if someone is healtheir than you, they can overpower your Edgegrab with theirs, which is an interesting new mechanic. Also Henry and Coop, you guys cant use shitty excuses and blame Tropical Freeze in your suckiness, as it seems Retro listened to all the complaints of cheap deaths and are now putting visual cues on what something is about to happen, like a ledge slightly breaking to let you know that your second jump with destroy it, and a squids tentacle wiggling before its about to strike. So no excuses from you guys, unless your weak chickens with your difficulty complaints :P Frankly it breaks my hear knowing both of you dont really care for the series, i love it to heart, i just love how its more of using the environment to platform instead of simply platforming through an environment, and its really looking beautiful and challenging and David Wise is the glorious cherry on the cake. As for QOTW: Like everyone else said, Nintendo is most going to do just that, but im gonna say its most likely an Eshop game everybody is gonna forget existed.

The obvious: The next call of duty? My pick: The adventures of Captain Toad. An eshop title for either the wiiu or the 3ds that takes the toad levels from Mario 3D world and expands them to a downloadable title. Bonus: 2D Metroid game from Nintendo as an eshop title shown in a direct before Mario kart 8 and released September

My guess is the Nintendo announces and releases a new Star Fox game, a little top down shooter for the 3DS in the Nintendo eshop. Furthermore, speculation will run rampant about whether they will port the game to mobiles and tablets, which won't occur until 2015.

The next set of Pokemon games after X & Y.... its the only thing I say will be out for sure they have had a main pokemon game or games in NA every year since 2011.
  • Jackonomics2.0 - February 3, 2014 12:40 p.m.

Holy shit you guys sound so uninformed about Tropical Freeze that its giving me cancer, no mention of Water Levels? Its more diverse levels like a savanha? No talk about David Wise? Holy shit man, you guys should've had Lucas talk about it, you guys better not give it a bullshit review just talking about Fur Effects and "MUH RETRO DIDN'T MAKE WHAT I WANTED"

i'm expecting a next ten version of tetris with oculus rift compatibility to be announced at E3 to be released this year l_l l_l l_l_l

I've said it a couple of other threads now, but I'm beginning to expect a 3DS remake of Majora's Mask to be announced soon. And given Nintendo's propensity for short announcement-to-release windows, I'd say it will be a marquee Fall release for them this year. And given the somewhat cultish following MM has acquired over the years (as cultish as Zelda games can get, I suppose), I expect it will be quite well received.
  • Jackonomics2.0 - February 3, 2014 12:01 p.m.

Here's my input on all this talk. Given Link Between World's concept, for all we know, the Wii U Zelda could be a spiritual following to Majora's Mask. Especially given how Majora was free form no handholding as well, I wouldn't be surprised if they made a flat out sequel.
  • rainn'sgaydar - February 3, 2014 2:25 p.m.

That thought has come to my mind as well, and I like it. They could conceivably even do the 3DS remake AND a console spiritual successor. Releasing them somewhat in tandem might even be a great idea. I guess we'll see what happens, but I can definitely get on board with your line of thought.

    Episode 3. Of Sonic 4.
  • punishment - February 2, 2014 1:52 p.m.

Fallout 4 is my prediction. And if it isn't, I will drown Bethesda in my spoiled brat frustration tears.
  • BladedFalcon - February 2, 2014 12:08 p.m.

Recently, Capcom tends to announce a game early in the year that does release later in it. Resident Evil 6 and Ducktales Remastered being the prime examples from both 2012 and 2013 respectively. So I'm gonna go ahead and guess that their next announcement along this vein shall be a new Ghost n' Goblins game, be it a re-master or a completely new altogether. Mainly because alongside Strider and Bionic Commando, Ghost n' Goblins is one of those old school franchises they keep teasing and toying with every time they can, and both Bionic Commando and Strider have gotten their turn in the spotlight, so it only makes sense for Arthur to get his chance to shine once more.

QOTW: I'm going to go out on a limb and foresee the release of a 2.5D Metroid from Retro. I don't think it's a stretch to say that Retro designed the game engine from Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze without having put in mind a way to churn out a side-scrolling Metroid title with the same tech. As quickly as they're reportedly hiring staff members, they're clearly coming onto their next project sooner than later. They already have an audience craving what could be the much rumored Metroid: Dread game and while it wouldn't move consoles, it'd be another good PR campaign for the diversity of the Wii U's library that'd steal Sony and Microsoft's thunder if announced during E3 or right before it.
  • EAC73 - February 1, 2014 9:36 a.m.

I'll go with Nintendo surprising us with a new Star Fox game. It will probably be released towards holiday with a price cut on the Wii U. Overall if Nintendo does go with this plan, I think they will end up moving a lot of consoles.
  • GOD - February 1, 2014 12:11 a.m.

Nintendo is talking about how it wants to make gamepad centric games, but also doesn't really know how to make games that aren't an existing Nintendo franchise. Thus, they will announce and release by holiday 2014 a new Metroid game that has the single player enhanced with the gamepad's gyroscope to increase aiming precision and ease, and the gamepad screen will actually be the primary screen with the TV being secondary. It will also be Nintendo's first step into an online multiplayer third person shooter in order to try to further step into the online age. Nintendo will do it's best to show that it doesn't need CoD or Battlefield to sell systems when it has it's own amazing shooter that has grappling energy tethers for platforming and morph balls for secret passages and sneaking all in a tense multiplayer match. There could even be a co-op wave made ala every-other-game with space pirates and the like. Not until half way through writing this, did I realize how much I actually wanted this game. Which is to say: a lot.
  • GOD - February 1, 2014 12:22 a.m.

Oh, and the title will be Metroid: United This will both be representative of the switch to a multiplayer/co-op involved Metroid game, as well as it will have the abbreviation of Metroid: U for the WiiU, just like New Super Mario Bros U had it at the end, even if it didn't stand for anything there.
  • Jackonomics2.0 - February 1, 2014 9:27 a.m.

Isn't God of War Rated E edition's multiplayer count as third person?
  • Shigeruken - January 31, 2014 11:17 p.m.

The western localization of Shin Gundam Musou will probably be announced and released this year. Every time I read that title I feel nostalgic for my old GR account name Shinn is certainly easier to pronounce than Shigeruken...
  • supergiraffe - January 31, 2014 10:16 p.m.

The Last Guardian took so long because the developers were having a hard time completing such a large and ambitious project. To make things easier they've finally decided to Schafer it, so this E3 expect the announcement of The First Guardian, to be released during the holiday season.
