While the storyline of the Resistance series has generally focused on the impact of the Chimera invasion on the US and Europe – you know, the most important places – it's little good inviting players to fight for the future of Earth if you don't give them a look at a few other bits of the map. To that end, Resistance 3's multiplayer mode spreads the fight further afield, with locations such as Columbia, Wales and Chad, Africa. The latest multiplayer reveal video focuses on the game's Alice Springs map, set in probably Australia's best-known small town (well, it was in Kangaroo Jack, after all).
Resistance 3's multiplayer mode is available for beta-testing to players who've picked up a code from marked copies of SOCOM 4; PlayStation Plus subscribers in Europe will be able to access the beta starting today, with subscribers in other territories joining the beta on Aug 23. The game launches in North America on Sep 6; Australian fans will have to wait until the 8th to repel the Chimera forces in their own country. Here's hoping the alien scum don't cut the supply routes over those two days: anyone who's played Risk knows Australia is a crucial tactical territory, after all.
