Revolution resolution

The comments from Satoru Iwata, president of Nintendo, that we reported earlier this week don't exclude Revolution from receiving a global launch, it seems.

"The comments have been taken out of context. What he's actually saying is that we're not holding a worldwide launch just because everyone else is doing one too," a Nintendo spokesperson told industry magazine MCV. "It's just another re-iteration of the fact that we're not looking at what Sony or Microsoft are doing. Unfortunately, it seems everyone's jumped on it and got the wrong idea."

So, Iwata's comment was intended more as an indication of Nintendo's refusal to play by anyone else's rules, rather than any definition of Revolution's global strategy. Guess we'll just have to wait until E3 before Nintendo gives us a firm indication of its plans.

Above: Iwata's ongoing insistence that Nintendo will march to the beat of its own drum.
