RUMOR: Blizzard’s five-year plan leaked, brand new MMO slated for 2013

Shares

Following the leak of a lengthy clip from the last cut scene for StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm comes a leaked five-year plan production schedule for Blizzard Entertainment. The report comes from MMOGameSite.com. According to the site’s source, Blizzard China manager Ye Weilun has been held responsible for the leaked document and has recently resigned. The document includes projected release dates for Diablo III, the World of Warcraft movie, future upcoming expansions for all of the company's major properties, and Blizzard’s brand new MMO codenamed ‘Titan.’

According to the alleged five-year plan document, you can expect Diablo III to launch in Q4 of 2011 with two Diablo III expansions scheduled to release later in 2013 and 2014. The next World of Warcraft expansion after Cataclysm is expected to release in 2012, while the World of Warcraft movie and Titan are scheduled to release in Q4 2013

    It looks like Titan will be released in 2014 and the game world will be Earth! Check out all the details at www.titanwatch.net

    @Syncmaster Would you?

    Starcraft 2's expansion and Diablo 3 coming at the same time would mean Blizzard breaking up another record, drowing the whole company in money. but man, it looks like they wont ever let go from world of warcraft

    Yeah, this is old news. I read this last week, I thought here on Gamesradar, but maybe it was pcgamer.com. Still, old news.

    @Spacegrass, How is Blizzard competing with itself by releasing Diablo 3 and SC2 expansion? 2 totally different game genres... and Blizzard fans will buy it all regardless of release dates close by. And expansions release dates also make sense, 1 year in between releases is usual for Blizzard. But these are only estimates anyway.

    I really hope this is fake, I was hoping Diablo III would come out sooner than that. I can't wait another year! I am skeptical though, because this chart says that Diablo III and Heart of the Swarm will be coming out at about the same time; why would Blizzard want to compete with itself? Also, the Diablo III expansions in 2013 and 2014 seem a little far fetched; that is in such an unimaginably distant future that we'll probably have holodecks and shit.

    @oneperson I agree with Hank, while a WoW movie may not be any good, Blizzard is KING of the CGI movies department. Run Starcraft II with everything on ultra and the cutscenes look absolutely amazing! Take that awesome quality, throw it up on the big screen, add some 3D for good measure and you got yourself a fan willing to shell $10. @miningguy WoW Mobile was the release of the armory and guild chat app on the iPhone and Droid. @JMAN Blizzard has stated that they can't make a Warcraft 4 because they can't risk splitting their dev teams any further. If they do start making Warcraft 4, it'll be at the expense of waiting maybe an extra year or two for new releases in Diablo, Starcraft and WoW. Personally, let them finish one of the 3 and then they can move on. @conchking DLC? Blizzard has never done DLC and I don't see any reason for them to do so. They either release full games or large expansions to their library. You might argue "but aren't expansions DLC?" Umm, no. Expansions are large additions of content to an already released product. DLC is small, but feasible amounts of content released to the consumer. Why do you think Blizzard games take soooo long to make? Because Blizzard believes go big, or don't go at all. Sure Blizzard is a developer/ publisher that works for Activision, but Activision doesn't even touch Blizzard because if there is a mistake, it'll be a BIG one. Blizzard earns yearly 2.4 billion in revenue, roughly half of Activision's entire revenue. Activision's role in this relationship is pretty much "hey how's it going?" says Kotick. "We're still working on various products, but XX game might be delayed because of XX." says Morhaime (president and founder). "...ok, well I'll just leave you be, keep up the work!" says Kotick.

    2 expansions for Diablo 3? More character classes must be on the way if this is the case. I'm psyched.

    Titan? Odd name for an MMO IMO. Also I can't see a WoW movie being any good.

    These guys are planning ahead if this is real that means that they have probably delayed these games so that they have some dlc or game to come at every quarter. Now we need to see Valve's planning schedule
