    Developer tips

    Developer Tip #1
    The optiwand is a critical tool. If you do not plan to carry a wand, it is a good idea to make sure more than one AI officer is carrying an optiwand in case one with the wand is incapacitated during a mission.
    Developer Tip #2
    It is a good idea to optiwand around blind corners. Your AI officers can also be ordered to optiwand around most corners.
    Developer Tip #3
    Increasing the difficulty will also increase the morale of suspects and civilians.
    Developer Tip #4
    Civilians or suspects who are not compliant at first can be made to comply using non lethal weapons such as the less-lethal shotgun, taser, or grenades. An effective way to make suspects and civilians comply is to shoot them with a lethal weapon in a non-lethal area such as in the leg or the arm. However, you will achieve higher scores for not injuring civilians or suspects.
    Developer Tip #5
    Any suspects caught behind a door that is being blown by C2 will be momentarily stunned.
    Developer Tip #6
    Crouching, moving slowly, and firing in short bursts keeps the targeting reticule tight and will make your shots more accurate.
    Developer Tip #7
    Officers ordered to stack up against a door will also automatically check the lock and report whether or not the door is open.
    Developer Tip #8
    Grenades are best used before entering and clearing rooms. Make sure to select the best grenade for the situation.
    Developer Tip #9
    Most primary and secondary weapons are equipped with a flashlight. Use these to illuminate dark areas that are difficult to see in.

    Invincibility, Cursor Accuracy, and Injury

    Browse to the game directory in Windows Explorer. You're looking for the "System" folder where the executable and .ini files are located. A common file path should look like this:
    C:\Program Files\Sierra\SWAT 4\Content\System
    Or whatever drive and/or directory you installed the game at. You'll need to back up 3 files before we begin, just in case you make a mistake or want to go back to the way the game is supposed to be played. Stick 'em someplace safe. The files are:
    SkeletalRegionInformation.ini
    SwatGame.ini
    SwatEquipment.ini
    These three files do different things, so I'll break the hacks down one by one.
    Invincibility
    Open the file "SwatGame.ini" in Notepad. Scroll down to the part of the file that says this:
    [SwatGame.SwatGameInfo]
    ;Single Player y-based Damage Modifiers
    ;
    ; Damage to Swat officers and the player in a
    ; single-player campaign is multiplied by this
    ; value before being applied. The various
    ; Easy/Normal/Hard values correspond to the difficulty
    ; setting that the player chooses for his campaign
    ; in the campaign setup.
    Right below that text are the difficulty damage multipliers.
    SPDamageModifierEasy=0.5;
    SPDamageModifierNormal=1.0;
    SPDamageModifierHard=1.5;
    SPDamageModifierElite=1.5;
    Change those numbers to "0.0" for each of the difficulty levels. As the text says, that affects you and your fellow SWAT members. I only tested this hack against the "Easy" difficulty setting, but I imagine it should work the same for them all. If not, sorry.
    As a warning, you can still be injured by being shot after doing this. But, you can cancel out the accuracy and speed penalties you accrue by following the next cheat.
    Accuracy and Limping
    Open the file "SkeletalRegionInformation.ini" in Notepad. You're looking for these sections under each body part:
    DamageModifier=(Min=3.0,Max=3.5)
    AimErrorPenalty=(Min=2.0,Max=2.0)
    LimpModifier=(Min=1.0,Max=1.0)
    For the aim penalty, change the numbers for "AimErrorPenalty" to "0.0". To negate limping, change the "LimpModifier" numbers to "0.0".
    As a quick note, changing the DamageModifier numbers to "0.0" will turn off damage to this body part. While this may seem like a good idea, it also affects the enemy! I emptied all my bullets into one guy with no effect whatsoever!
    Easy, right? So far so good?
    The next part is a bit trickier.
    Weapon Accuracy
    Once again, open up "SwatEquipment.ini" in Notepad. This file contains all the accuracy modifiers and characteristics the weapons. Want to make your character a crack shot? Here's how. You're looking for specific entries, like so:
    ;Since zero is perfect AimError, Max AimError is the worst AimError
    MaxAimError=15.0
    ;AimError recovered per second until base AimError is achieved
    LargeAimErrorRecoveryRate=8.0
    SmallAimErrorRecoveryRate=2.5
    AimErrorBreakingPoint=2.5
    ;Aim Error Base values
    StandingAimError=0.25
    WalkingAimError=1.5
    RunningAimError=10.0
    CrouchingAimError=0.15
    ;Instantaneous penalties
    EquippedAimErrorPenalty=8.5
    StandToWalkAimErrorPenalty=3.5
    WalkToRunAimErrorPenalty=5.0
    DamagedAimErrorPenalty=0.0
    FiredAimErrorPenalty=1.25
    InjuredAimErrorPenalty=1.15
    MaxInjuredAimErrorPenalty=5.0
    ;AimError penalty for one unit of mouse movement per second
    LookAimErrorPenaltyFactor=0.000125
    MaxLookAimErrorPenalty=12.0
    I changed all the numbers following each entry to "0.0" except for LargeAimErrorRecoveryRate, SmallAimErrorRecoveryRate, and
    AimErrorBreakingPoint=2.5. You can probably change those to "0.0" as well, but I didn't test it. They don't really matter anyway, as you'll practically have a zeroed-in crosshair during any situation.
    No applause necessary, gentlemen.
    REMEMBER: BACK UP YOUR FILES BEFORE EDITING THEM. I CAN NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY NEFARIOUS GOINGS-ON IF YOU MUCK SOMETHING UP!!!

    More Hacks - Unlock All Campaign Maps

    Ed. note: always make backup copies of system files before you start editing, so you can easily restore the game to its original state.
    In My Computer go to C:\Program Files\Sierra\SWAT 4\Content\System. Then you should see somthing that says campaign.ini. Open it in word pad and under
    HACK_HasPlayedCreditsOnCampaignCompletion=False
    type this exactly how i have it.
    MissionResultNames=SP-FoodWall
    MissionResultNames=SP-FairfaxResidence
    MissionResultNames=SP-ConvenienceStore
    MissionResultNames=SP-ABomb
    MissionResultNames=SP-AutoGarage
    MissionResultNames=SP-RedLibrary
    MissionResultNames=SP-Casino
    MissionResultNames=SP-JewelryHeist
    MissionResultNames=SP-Tenement
    MissionResultNames=SP-Hospital
    MissionResultNames=SP-ArmsDeal
    MissionResultNames=SP-Hotel
    MissionResultNames=SP-DNA
    MissionResultNames=ObjectivesBallistics
    in that order and lined up exactly like that. Then above the
    HACK_HasPlayedCreditsOnCampaignCompletion=False
    change the
    availableIndex=0
    (or if you did some missions before it would be a different #) to
    availableIndex=14
    then save it and open the SWAT 4 program and you should have the campaign complete (and access to all campaign maps.)
