Temple Run: Brave announced, coming to iOS and Android devices
Imangi Studios teams up with Disney Mobile for a Brave-themed endless runner
It’s a given that Disney would release a video game of some kind to complement a big movie release. Disney Pixar’s Brave is set to come out on June 22, and Disney Mobile was looking for something that would have longevity, not just an app that would be downloaded and forgotten in a week. That’s why, instead of building their own game from scratch, they teamed up with Imangi Studios to create Temple Run: Brave. Imangi is the tiny three-person studio that developed the hit iOS game, Temple Run. The game boasts a whopping 80 million downloads to date and has 16 million daily users.
Temple Run: Brave is a collaborative effort between Disney Mobile and Imangi Studios and will play the same as the original game, but with the addition of archery, where you tap targets to earn extra coins. As Merida, the feisty, red-haired princess, you weave and dodge your through the vibrant highlands of Scotland to escape the clutches of Mordue, the demon bear. Along the way, tapestries that you collect will unravel the story.
Like the original Temple Run, you can use your coins for power-ups and compete with your friends for leaderboard scores. Temple Run: Brave will cost $0.99 to download, which comes with 2500 bonus coins and will be available for the iPhone, iPod touch, iPad and Android on June 14.
