The next Assassin’s Creed game will “cherry pick” elements from the movie
The Assassins’s Creed movie has dropped a trailer and it’s very assassins out of ten. Speaking from the set of the film the (now ex) CEO of Ubisoft Motion Pictures, Jean-Julien Baronnet seemed to hint strongly that we could see a convergence between both the film and the game.
On the game side Assassin’s Creed is taking a break with an Egyptian flavoured return next year under the codename ‘Empire’, and Baronnet seems confident it will cross over with the movie (due at the end of the year).
Baronnet said “the game people, the Assassin’s Creed team, came on set and when they saw some stuff they were very inspired, and I’m sure we’ll have some bridge from the movie to the game”.
And it sounds like the bleeding effect between the two formats has already started: “we put in the game some clues that were in the movie”. Although what we can expect is still obviously a bit of a secret as he adds, “I don’t know what the game will cherry pick from the movie,” explains Baronnet, “but I know that there is some stuff they like very much, like we have cherry picked elements from the game and use it in the movie”.
First feedback from the opening 15 minutes of the movie is good so there’s reason enough to get excited, but knowing there might be a hint or two towards Empire is just a little extra sprinkle on top.
