Thor game gets talented voices, flashy new screenshots

Sega has pursuaded Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston to lend their voices and images to its upcoming adventure title, Thor: God of Thunder.

Hemsworth, who plays Thor in next year's movie, was last seen as Captain Kirk's dad in the latest Star Trek film. Hiddleston, who plays Loki, has also appeared in numerous stage and film productions. Both will bereprising their big screen roles for Sega's movie tie-in game due out in Spring 2011.

“Bringing in Chris and Tom to star in Thor: God of Thunder gives us AAA talent that will create a truly cinematic interactive experience,” said Gary Knight, Senior Vice President of Marketing at SEGA Europe and SEGA America. “Mighty Thor and the trickster Loki will face off with real emotion while giving fans visual and vocal continuity between the video game and film adaptations of the Marvel franchise.”

Thor: God of Thunder is said to dig deeper into Thor's storied past and allow players to wield the mighty Mjoinir hammer against a bevy of Norse mythology foes. It will be released to coincide with the movie's opening on May 6, 2011.

As an added bonus to today's announcement, Sega has releaved three new screenshots of the game; two for the PS3 & Xbox 360 (above), and one for the Wii (below).
