The good news is that they are everywhere, scattered across Mercia in a variety of monasteries and ruins but if you don’t want to have to hoof it over every patch of ground, we’ve got them right here in one handy place. It’s worth noting though that in order to find your way to each one, you’ll have to do a little bit of puzzling to find your way inside. Assassin’s Creed hasn’t been this obsessed with movement puzzles for years so we’ve got some specific tips below for the best ways to actually get to each book and get yourself levelled up. If you want some advice with the rest of the game, check out some of the guides linked above.
- Remember that lots of things can be destroyed. Crates can be smashed, windows can be shattered, and weak looking wood is exactly that.
- Use Odin’s Vision to check for red markers. These markers can be shot with arrows. Whether it’s a ladder or just the inside lock of a door, you can shoot everything marked in scarlet.
- Make the most of flaming pots. You can throw these at red outlined doors so if you see one lying around, there’s probably a movement puzzle nearby. You can also jump and duck under gaps while holding the pots so keep that in mind.
