Valkyria Chronicles III anime announced, demo launches on Japan PSN today

Sega has recently announced a new two-episode OVA based on Valkyria Chronicles III. Titled ‘Senjo no Valkyria 3: Dare ga Tame no Juyu,’ the anime is scheduled to release in spring of 2011. Valkyria Chronicles III is scheduled to release for the PSP on January 27, 2011 in Japan – and the demo has just released on the Japan PlayStation Network today.

Though it’s expected, there has been no official confirmation that the third installment in the series will be localized for western audiences. Speaking on the PlayStation Blog, assistant community manager of Sega America Aaron Webber, explained that the decision will depend on how well Valkyria Chronicles II sells.

“VCII’s success or failure will probably play a big part in that decision, so we’ll see how the game is doing soon. The launch week was good, but the weeks after are also still important,” saidWebber. “Hopefully the DLC will also boost support a bit and get the game back on people’s radars – every copy and DLC bundle helps!”
