Thanks Gabe, for reassuring me that Half-Life 3 is nowhere near completion and crushing my hopes of it ever arriving. Who's the troll now? I just want Half-Life... *sob*

Or maybe it is you sir, trolling us instead! Come on Valve, hurry up and release this thing before the whole situation becomes like Duke Nukem Forever as n00b said before me.

    Your reviews are shit.

Valve really needs to stop being so lazy. It's just gotten to a ridiculous level.
  • AuthorityFigure - December 30, 2011 1:34 a.m.

They really do coast along - other developers have the same quality and a bigger output. This could be dangerous for their longevity.

They're not exactly being lazy. Look at the amount of games they've developed in the past few years, and look at the games they're developing currently. Add to that the constant maintenance it requires to keep Steam, and it's pretty damn clear that Valve are working their asses off. It's just ungrateful gits like you, that constantly demand things from Valve. They're all only human, and they have limits.

Maybe the plan is for the fanbase itself to develop the game? Y'know, since the Valve community is so strong & all. Just a guess.

All we want is SOMETHING. IT HAS BEEN TOO LONG. JUST ANNOUNCE IT OFFICIALLY AT LEAST.
  • n00b - December 29, 2011 4:17 p.m.

this is becoming the next duke nukem forever
  • AGENTJORRRG - December 29, 2011 4:16 p.m.

"There has been no directive from Gabe to leak anything" Does this mean....they have things to leak? Stop blue balling me, Valve.

Breaking News: Valve takes their sweet time on their games
  • obviouslyadouche - December 29, 2011 1:43 p.m.

Thing is once it is announced people will go ape **** over it and the longer valve waits the bigger the anticipation.
  • Thequestion 121 - December 29, 2011 1:16 p.m.

Nooooooooooo. I can play Portal/Portal 2 and Half Life 2 for only so long D:
  • Jedipimp0712 - December 30, 2011 7:20 a.m.

you realize Valve also has other titles, such as TF2, L4D2, and Counter Strike Source. TF2 alone has offered me more time in game than the Portal and Half Life series. You may want to take a look at those if you are bored with all the Valve titles you have mentioned.

In a weird way, this is probably the worst possible outcome for the rumors. "Confirming" that no, all your hopes and dreams aren't founded in reality isn't what people wanted to hear. Granted, you can't do what people want all the time, but it's been over a half-decade; it's time to give us a little something. At the very least, people can hang on to that reply from Gabe to /v/ about a HL3 announcement at E3...
  • tiben36 - December 29, 2011 11:57 a.m.

"oh, masybe next year" if thats not leaking, i dont know what this is though, the oker "leaked" arkham world", but it was obvious that it was fake
  • RedHarlow - December 29, 2011 11:27 a.m.

I die a little every time Valve announces something about a game other than Half Life 3, or denies something about Half Life 3.
  • BladedFalcon - December 29, 2011 12:23 p.m.

*Laughs* Fair enough XD I'm just amused because even since then i was pretty sure that Shirt was a red herring. But hey, don't lose hope! Dia de reyes is the 6th of januray, perhaps you could get lucky by then :P
