Last night's ceremony for the Videogame BAFTA awards saw multiple winners in the absence of a GTA title to scoff the lot - with double wins for PS2 giant-killer Shadow of the Colossus, handheld joyfest LocoRoco on PSP and multiplatform Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter.
Colossus scooped the Artistic Achievement and Best Action and Adventure Game awards, while LocoRoco won Best Children's Game (we're already writing a strongly worded letter of complaint) and Best Game Character. We would have loved to see the camera pan over scowling videogame men to stop on one of the gurning beanbag LocoRoco's cheery smiles.
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter stormed the Best Game award, with a Technical Achievement award riding shotgun.
Above: The beautiful Shadow of the Colossus deservedly grabbed a gong for Artistic Achievement
In other categories, DS struck back with Doctor Kawashima's Brain Training getting the Innovation award and Electroplankton honoured for audio, while the underappreciated Psychonauts deservedly got the nod for best screenplay.
