007 Legends to toast James Bond's career
Activision dipping into 007 past for 50th anniversary game
007 is taking a trip down memory lane with the release of 007 Legends, Activision's next James Bond title featuring missions inspired from the uber-spy's films.
Developed as an homage to Bond's 50-year history, 007 Legends will cast players as the iconic superagent in an original story that will include locations and scenes culled from six James Bond movies, including the franchise's upcoming flick, Skyfall. In standard fashion, players will be aided in their missions with super-cool spy toys, fast cars, faster women, and weapons that compliment each individual James Bond era.
"Creating a video game storyline that ties together six popular, yet very different,” said David Oxford, Executive VP at Activision Publishing. “Bond movie narratives can be challenging, but together with EON Productions, our developer Eurocom, has pulled it off to create an homage that we think will be a unique and highly entertaining Bond video game."
Outside of the single player campaign, 007 Legends will feature the return of GoldenEye 007: Reloaded's Mi6 Ops Missions, this time allowing virtual agents to also relive the special assignments through the perspective of Bond's enemies. Four-player-split-screen and online multiplayer modes will also be included.
007 Legends is scheduled to crack wise and snap necks on PS3 and Xbox 360 this fall.
