Ah, Family Guy. Cancelled more times that a TotalFilm.com writer's credit card and once consigned to being chuckle fodder for collegiate stoners... The series is now one of the most popular on the planet.
With creator, writer and voice actor Seth MacFarlane being a colossal cinephile, Family Guy is packed with in-jokes, references, homages and even entire remakes of films, from Hitchcock to Spielberg, classic to cult, there's barely a film they haven't poked fun at.
Here are ten of the best....
The Spoof: The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
If they’d made the movie: They did. Something, Something, Something Darkside, the sequel to The Blue Harvest, hits DVD/Blu-ray 28th December.

If they’d made the movie: This has to be in their list of films to do as an extended episode! With a fellowship consisting of Stewie, Chris, Bryan and Neil as the Hobbits, Peter as Aragorn, Quagmire as Legolas, and Cleveland as Gimli.
Joe could play Gandalf, with Mr Pewterschmidt as Saruman, the Giant Chicken as The Balrog, Adam West as Elrond, Herbert as Theoden...

If they’d made the movie: Peter as Vincent Vega, Cleveland as Jules, Joe as Butch, Quagmire as Z, Lois as Mia Wallace, Ollie Williams as Marcellus Wallace, Bruce the gay guy as Mr. Wolf… Make it happen.
