15 new tracks set for Ninty's Mario Kart DS
Producer confirms kart modding to appear along with balloon blowing power-ups
Mario Kart DS looks set to nick a leaf from by offering the chance to draw your own stickers and slap them on to your souped-up vehicle.
Hideki Konno, the producer of Mario Kart DS, revealed the detail in a recent interview promising that the touch-screen and stylus will be used to design the decals, which will then be used to personalise the racers.
Players will also be able to change the colour of their character's clothes to avoid mid-race confusion, which could be vital when you need to know who to gain revenge on for that ruthless red shell attack.
He also revealed that 15 of the tracks will be brand new ones while also confirming that the rest will be drawn from such concrete classics as Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart 64, Mario Kart Super Circuit and Mario Kart Double Dash.
Hideki Konno did spread confusion with regard to Battle mode, though, by hinting that his team were considering incorporating new features such as balloon inflation via the built in microphone.
Quite what this means, we really don't know. But just as soon as we do, so will you.
Mario Kart DS will be released for DS this winter
