20 coolest movie spies, moles and secret agents

1. Jason Bourne

As seen in: The Bourne Identity (2002), The Bourne Supremacy (2004), The Bourne Ultimatum (2007)

Jason Bourne flies under the radar across an entire trilogy of films. Survival is what drives him forward, all whilst suffering from a major case of amnesia. What's most impressive is that as a former field agent on the run from those very forces who employed him he still refuses to bow down to intimidation. Made easy by his suave fake identities.

With little clue as to who is pursuing him -- or why -- he keeps even-keeled, dispensing with a never-ending stream of attackers with style and aplomb. Sometimes that involves bath towels. His fight skills and quick-thinking go unmatched within the spy field. Plus, he's a dab hand at screeching through the Parisian streets in a tiny Mini Cooper.
