2008's big games reviewed already!
We rate the most exciting prospects with presumptious insolence
Star Wars: Force Unleashed | LucasArts
Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC
We reckon...
Obviously, the cosy Star Wars setting makes Force Unleashed an automatic must-have. But the first ever concept footage had us drooling in anticipation, and the limited information we've been drip fed - for instance, being eaten by a rancor, then exploding it from within to escape - plus more recent movies and character and plot details makes Force Unleashed look like the best Star Wars game ever, ever.
True, Star Wars games aren't reknowned for quality, but LucasArts made both Dark Forces and Jedi Knight, two awesome games. So don't tell us that the lightning of gaming brilliance can't strike more than once.
But can Force Unleashed ever match our demands? It'll be be placed on a golden pillow of hype by fans and admirers, and the buzz will only get bigger. The images, which are mostly artwork and not in-game, only prove the game will fit in with the Star Wars universe. We pray that the eventual action fits just as perfectly with our high expectations.
But will it sell?
It's long been asserted that Star Wars = big bags of cash. God help the content of our wallets if Force Unleashed is actually good.
Knee-jerk verdict
So little has been proved in action, but LucasArts is an accomplished developer and we predict Force Unleashed will all but exceed our gameplay desires. 9/10
Note: Please remember that these these 'reviews' are merely lighthearted scores based on nothing but our own arrogant prejudice and opinonated ego. Duh. We will review the game fully when it is released.
