2011 Platinum Chalice Game of the Year nominees: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
The Wii goes out in style with the Link's grand adventure
This Friday, we kick off GamesRadar’s sixth officially annual Platinum Chalice awards, a celebration of the best of what the industry’s given us in 2011. In the run-up to the awards, we’re doing something a little different. Every day this week, we’ll reveal one of our five Game of the Year nominees, with brief videos detailing why we think they’re titles worthy of consideration. And after the Chalices are posted on Friday afternoon (Pacific time, that is), we’ll follow up with a special video detailing our winner.
Yesterday we unveiled our first official nominee for our Game of the Year, and today we present another contender that should also come as no surprise – it's Zelda, after all. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword lives up to the impossible standards of the Zelda series, and for that it earns a right to compete for the top spot.
Is Skyward Sword your favorite game of the year? Whether you agree or disagree, let us know in the comments, and don’t forget to stay tuned all week for more Platinum Chalice nominees!
