24 Hours of Halo 3
We played nonstop for one entire day. Here's what happened
Some of us had been at the office, playing Halo 3, since before sunrise. Now the sun was setting. But the darkness brought light for all our readers. The Crackdown download was finally lit up and available! But while poor, anxious forum posters awaited their first chance to play, Brett and Charlie had already grown bored of playing like regular folk and had moved on to wall-size screens.
GamesRadarBrett (6:49 PM): So we're moving our units at this point, moving them downstairs to the larrrge TVs now that everyone's outta here for the evening. We should have a video of that whole scenario soon. Again, Charlie and I have been going since 5:00am this morning, so any and all snacks, sodas, hard liquor or whatever will have to be enough to make it last until 5am again. And our 360s are HOT after all that playing. Like, stupid hot. Way hotter than any system I've ever bothered to notice how hot it gets. The good news is, again, the Beta should still be up at some point, 7-10PM PST. We'll certainly be on then, with more movies and impressions.
GamesRadarCharlie (7:01 PM): So, like Brett mentioned, we're moving downstairs to TVs as big, if not bigger, than the one you saw Ryan McCaffrey playing on. This might make the 24-hour deal all worth it... we outlasted everyone else in the office and now their expensive equipment is ours to screw up.
GamesRadarTyler (7:05 PM): It has now been three hours since Bungie announced that the beta would be fixed within 3 - 6 hours, so get ready everyone. If all goes well, and we don't end up with more delays, you should be playing sometime in the next three hours - hopefully sooner than later. We'll see you there... we'll be playing until 5am PST (or at least some of us will)!
GamesRadarTyler (7:26 PM): We just got word that it is FIXED NOW! I repeat, YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE BETA VIA CRACKDOWN RIGHT $%(#@#* NOW.
Spydermanfbk (7:28 PM): Hey Tyler. Brett and Charlie taking a break? Or owning fools?
GamesRadarTyler (7:30 PM): They're playing on some big ass screens, away from computers, they'll be back shortly. But look.. look above. Crackdown is fixed!
GamesRadarCharlie (7:32 PM): Sorry, guys. We're so enthralled with our new HUGE HD TV setup that we're finding it hard to pull ourselves away. I'm actually in a Team Slayer match on High Ground while typing this message. I found a hiding place in the ocean water, behind a rock. 3 minutes in and no one's found me... Hiding sometimes works strategically too. In the Crazy Team King (King of the Hill where the Hill moves randomly), I was trying to stay in the small circular hill area as long as possible. Luckily, there was a downed Pelican as part of the decor and I actually managed to crouch down behind it for a full minute without people seeing me. Everyone was dying all around me, but I was just watching silently.
Christian, of course, caught this moment in the journey as well. He even stayed until almost 10:00 PM to edit it all together!

GamesRadarChristian (9:37 PM): Here's the last video of the day! It took a while for Final Cut to cough up a finished video. Curse my ambition to merge several clips together!
