30 Biggest Movie Characters
Thinking super size...
Gwoemul The Host (2006)
The Character: An amphibious beast that rises from the Han River to slaughter any humans in the vicinity.
Particularly likes kidnapping little girls.
Size: 30 ft (approx)
If They Were Tiny: It would be just as terrifying – have you seen its teeth?!
Crocodile Lake Placid (1999)
The Character: A humongous saltwater crocodile, this monster hunts humans in Black Lake.
Size: 30 ft
If They Were Tiny: We’d flush that bad boy down the loo. Good riddance to yeh.
Optimus Prime Transformers (2007)
The Character: The leader of the gentle (well, mostly) Autobots, Optimus Prime is a ‘robot in disguise’ who’s after the life-giving Allspark.
He’s the kind of robot you could go for afternoon tea with.
Size: 32 ft
If They Were Tiny: He’d disguise himself as a toy truck instead – but then risk being mangled by some over-zealous kid.
Rhedosaurus Beast From 20,000 Fathoms (1953)
The Character: The brainchild of effects wizard Ray Harryhausen, the Rhedosaurus is unleashed by (what else?!) a nuclear bomb test.
It awakens from a 100-million-year slumber and heads off on a destructive tour of North America.
Size: 33 ft (tall, 98 ft long)
If They Were Tiny: Nobody would even notice it had woken up.
Falkor The Neverending Story (1984)
The Character: A belly-laughing luck dragon, Falkor comes to the aid of quest-having hero Atreyu on at least two occasions.
He’s basically a giant flying dog.
Size: 50 ft
If They Were Tiny: He’d be an unlucky dragon – too small to offer any help whatsoever to Atreyu.
But he’d still have that infectious belly laugh.
Nancy Archer Attack Of The 50 Foot Woman (1958)
The Character: Nancy Archer (Allison Hayes) piles on the height when she comes into contact with a giant alien…
Size: 50 ft (obviously)
If They Were Tiny: Attack Of The Five Foot Woman doesn’t suggest quite the same level of danger, does it?
Glenn Manning The Amazing Colossal Man (1957)
The Character: After receiving a good blast of nuclear energy, military man Glenn Manning (Glenn Langan) grows to 60 ft tall.
At that size, his heart struggles to pump enough blood into his brain, which slowly turns him mad. He eventually tramples half of Las Vegas into the sand.
Size: 60 ft
If They Were Tiny: He’d be the Amazing Miniscule Man instead.

Giant Squid 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea (1954)
The Character: A huge, tentacled, beaked beast from the depths of the ocean.
It rises to the surface to attack Captain Nemo (James Mason) and his crew.
Size: 70 ft (with tentacles)
If They Were Tiny: Nemo would probably keep it as an adorable little ship mascot.
Reptilicus Reptilicus (1961)
The Character: A massive dragon-esque serpent, Reptilicus is notable as the first movie monster to come out of Denmark.
It has armour-plated skin and a set of wings. In other words, it’s awesome.
Size: 90 ft
If They Were Tiny: You could set it loose on your Lego miniatures and create pint-sized carnage.
Iron Giant The Iron Giant (1999)
The Character: Basically an old-school Transformer, the Iron Giant falls from space and befriends lonely kid Hogarth (Eli Marienthal).
Size: 100 ft
If They Were Tiny: He’d be much easier to hide from Hogarth’s mum, but less immune to airborne missiles…
