30 Greatest Movie Themed Weddings
Aisle be back...
Walk The Line (2005)
Why It's Cool: Joshua Watson and Rachel Van Der Werwe take the places of Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon for a wedding invite with serious soul.
If It Was A Film: It would be about a church singer whose love for a woman conflicts with his dedication to becoming a priest.
A guitar-playing priest.
Battlestar Galactica (2004)
Why It's Cool: OK, not really based on a movie, but a TV show that's based on a movie, so it totally counts.
This photo's based on the show's Last Supper promotional material. “While we, as a couple, have a lot of respect for both Jesus and our buddy Leonardo,” said the groom, “we happen to like the re-imagined Battlestar version a bit more. That’s the one we recreated (you’re welcome to compare the poses if you want) and it’s the one that had more meaning for us at the time.”
If It Was A Film: It would be a Battlestar Galactica version of the Bible. Now that's something we'd like to see.
An Education (2009)
Why It's Cool: It's a wedding invite inspired by Carey Mulligan's breakout hit movie.
Everything from the costumes and hair to the ponderous looks on the happy couple's faces is perfect.
If It Was A Film: It'd be an even-more shocking remake of the Mulligan film – this time the schoolgirl actually marries her much-older beau. Dum dum duuuuum.
Harry Potter
Why It's Cool: It captures the magic (sorry) of this couple's happy day as they fight off their guests with a couple of nifty spells.
If Harry Potter ever got married, we assume this is exactly what his wedding would look like. Only with added Voldemort for kicks.
If It Was A Film: This would be the opening scene of the eighth film, which fills in the gap between Harry graduating and getting married to Ginny.
Army Of Darkness (1992)
Why It's Cool: It's a wedding cake that forgoes the traditional bride and groom on top, instead opting for, well, Ash, the hero of the Evil Dead franchise.
We can't think of anybody more deserving of a spot on the top of a wedding cake – especially one that features a skeletal hand...
If It Was A Film: It would be a stop-motion oddity about a cake figurine going through an identity crisis. Is he Ash from the movies? Or is he just a bit of marzipan?

Bridesmaids (2012)
Why It's Cool: Alright, the bridesmaids aren't wearing hot pink like Rose Byrne et al, but that's probably a good thing, and these gals have certainly got the attitude to pull off those moody pouts.
Points also for the brick backdrop – there's nothing like attention to detail.
If It Was A Film: It already was. Hurrah!

The Princess Bride (1987)
Why It's Cool: It's an invite, apparently, from the clergyman (Peter Cook) himself, replete with speech impediment.
Wonder if anybody had trouble understanding this particular invite?
If It Was A Film: It'd be a whole 90 minutes of the clergyman. We might need subtitles...

Justice League
Why It's Cool: We're still waiting for a Justice League movie, and this couple apparently couldn't wait any longer, so they decided to bring the team alive in their wedding – of all places.
Cue a load of ladies lining up behind their suited men, then ripping at their shirts to reveal their secret superhero identities. Naturally, the groom's Superman.
If It Was A Film: It would be a Justice League wedding special, in which all of the super-buddies decide to cut costs and get married together. It's a recession, y'know…

Jurassic Park (1993)
Why It's Cool: A T-Rex crashes a wedding and everybody runs screaming for their lives.
Whenever we're at a wedding in the future, we're definitely going to daydream that this is happening.
If It Was A Film: Could this be the plot of Jurassic Park 4 ? A wedding reception heads to Isla Nublar as an exotic/romantic place to tie the knot.
Except there are, y'know, DINOSAURS there...

Inception (2010)
Why It's Cool: It's the poster for Inception, only given a movie twist as the pivotal players in the wedding all replace the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio et al.
Meanwhile, the title's been changed to Reception . Because of course it has.
If It Was A Film : It would be about people constantly wandering around trying to get reception on their phone.
