3DS Fire Emblem coming to US, says Nintendo on Twitter and not at E3 as that would be too logical
Announcing new games at E3 press conferences is not hot right now
Nintendo has announced that RPG favourite Fire Emblem: Awakening for 3DS will be coming to the US at some as-yet-unspecified point in the future. There's no other details, but it's still great news.
In fact, if we were Nintendo we would consider it to be the sort of news our fans would want us to shout about. But in true, completely inexplicable Nintendo style, it chose not to (despite having a glorious opportunity in the shape of an E3 conference in front of an expectant worldwide audience or - failing that - at yesterday's dedicated 3DS software showcase, where the order of the day was to highlight new and upcoming 3DS games like, say, Fire Emblem: Awakening).
But that would have made too much sense.
Above: This is one explanation
Instead, after yesterday's 3DS software showcase Nintendo of America president and part-time stand-up comedian, Reggie Fils-Aime, happened to mention it to some journalists. And then they went and started telling people. This unofficial dissemination of information was authenticated when Nintendo took to Twitter saying in no more than 140 characters that:
'We are excited to confirm a NEW game announcement coming to the US: the new 3DS Fire Emblem! More info to come.'
Obviously Nintendo was so excited it completely forgot to mention it at any point during its dedicated E3 press briefings. But, still, Fire Emblem 3DS. Yay.
