40 Oddest Movie Aliens

Killer Klowns From Outer Space (1988)

The Aliens: The Killer Klowns

The Odd: Where to start? They’re a race of extra-terrestrial sadists who coat their victims in cotton candy, liquidize them and enjoy them as a kind of human milkshake. Oh, and they do all of this whilst dressed as clowns. Odd enough for you?

If Pegg & Frost Had To Look After One: They'd be fine, they like Cornettos, not cotton candy.

Little Shop Of Horrors (1986)

The Alien: Audrey (II)

The Odd:
If you thought the Triffids were a bit bizarre, you ain’t seen nothing yet. A giant, man-eating plant is pretty strange, but one that can belt out showtunes as well? That takes things to a whole new level of weird.

If Pegg & Frost Had To Look After One: We can picture them forming a barbershop trio and touring fleapits up and down America, pausing only to hack-up the odd redneck to keep Audrey sweet.

Earth Girls Are Easy (1989)

The Aliens: Mac, Wiploc & Zeebo

The Odd: Three fur-clad morons, travelling the universe in the campest spacecraft known to man, spouting one-liners like, “you have lip-lock for Wiploc?” How they haven’t been wiped out by their fellow space-dwellers is a mystery.

If Pegg & Frost Had To Look After Them: Their hapless attempts to go on the pull would assure their extra-terrestrial guests that Earth girls are anything but.

Robot Monster (1953)

The Alien: Ro-Man

The Odd: Jesus…in a crowded field this has surely got to be the daftest looking alien on the list. Ro-Man is essentially a man in a gorilla costume with a diver’s helmet wedged on his bonce. Don’t let him catch you laughing though. Ro-Man took on the dinosaurs and won! Earth has nothing capable of stopping him! Still, he really does look stupid.

If Pegg & Frost Had To Look After Him: Frost could amuse him with his monkey impression from Shaun Of The Dead . Solid gold party trick, that one…

The Faculty (1998)

The Alien: The Parasite

The Odd: Like the aliens in Signs , The Faculty ’s alien parasite has succesfully managed to infiltrate planet Earth. However, unlike Shyamalan’s dozy greys, this extra-terrestrial has done its homework, finding a planet full of the water it requires to survive. Sadly though, it bypasses the chance to head to the ocean in favour of setting up shop at an inland high school. D’oh.

If Pegg & Frost Had To Look After It: Given that the alien’s human form is that of a bewitchingly attractive girl, they’d be parasite-fodder in no time…

Village Of The Damned (1960)

The Aliens: The Creepy Kids

The Odd: Okay, so technically they’re only half-alien, but it certainly seems to be the dominant half. These freaky psychic nutjobs are all the more terrifying for their outwardly cherubic appearance, and true to form, they’ve inherited the traditional alien desire to muck everything up here on Earth. Kids eh? Who’d have ‘em?

If Pegg & Frost Had To Look After One:
Social services would intervene. Nobody in their right mind would leave a kid in their custody, even an alien one!

Alien 3 (1992)

The Alien: Xenomorph Dog

The Odd: A thoroughly misconceived addition to the Alien franchise’s cast of critters, this hound-like Xenomorph is just as deadly as its regular brethren, and yet remains impossible to take seriously. Because at the end of the day, there’s no getting away from the fact that it looks like a manky dog.

If Pegg & Frost Had To Look After One: They’d be a laughing stock. Imagine having that ugly mutt on the end of a lead…

Coneheads (1993)

The Aliens: The Coneheads

The Odd: Umm, well their heads look a bit funny don’t they? But aside from that, is it not strange that an aggressive alien race would send a family of three to scout out the possibility of invasion? You know, not that we’re reading too much into it or anything…

If Pegg & Frost Had To Look After Them: It’d be a recipe for culture-clash comedy! With the obligatory satirical swipes at the immigrant experience, obviously…

Spiderman 3 (2007)

The Alien: The Symbiote

The Odd: This slimy parasite is a kind of “living costume” that seems to bring out the worst features of its hapless host. In Peter Parker’s case it manifests itself in a dodgy Emo makeover and some truly horrendous dancing.

If Pegg & Frost Had To Look After It: Their taste in music would suddenly get very, very shit. And depressing.

Flesh Gordon (1974)

The Alien: Emperor Wang

The Odd: Hailing from the planet Porno (ho-ho-ho…wait, why aren’t you laughing?) Emperor Wang the Peverted (to give him his full title) is obsessed with rendering the Earth’s population sex-mad. He’s even invented a diabolical sex ray to make it happen. The question is: what for?

If Pegg & Frost Had To Look After Him: They’d have a barrel of innuendo-based laughs. “Wang!” Ah, it gets us every time.

George was once GamesRadar's resident movie news person, based out of London. He understands that all men must die, but he'd rather not think about it. But now he's working at Stylist Magazine.
