50 Greatest Movie Lobby Cards

First Blood (1982)

The Card: Stallone greases up, dons the bandana and gets ready for war.

Why It's So Cool: It represents the birth of an action icon.

Gorilla At Large (1954)

The Card: So old school that we have the inclusion of ‘Color by Technicolor’.

Why It's So Cool: Clearly a King Kong rip-off, but the title’s amazing.

Flash Gordon (1980)

The Card: As camp as the film itself. Which is to say it’s very camp, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Why It's So Cool: Ming! That is all.

Saturday Night Fever (1977)

The Card: Featuring a seriously sharp John Travolta, cementing his image as a cool cat.

Why It's So Cool: It has Travolta striking a pose in cool vintage togs. While checking out a lady. Damn he cool.

Streets Of Fire (1984)

The Card: Flaming, anti-authority anthem that perfectly captures the spirit of Walter Hill’s movie.

Why It's So Cool: He's kicking over a police bike! (Not that we condone such behaviour.)

Predator (1987)

The Card: George Dillon and Arnie compare muscle mass in the jungle.

Why It's So Cool: Arnie’s obviously got the upper hand, because he’s got that massive gun.

The Conversation (1974)

The Card: Gene Hackman gets to work doing his surveillance thang.

Why It's So Cool: It features one of the coolest movie sleuths ever.

The Bride Of Frankenstein (1935)

The Card: Arty, super-busy ad for the Frankenstein follow-up, which crams in as much as it can - and then some.

Why It's So Cool: Boris Karloff looks like a cross between Frankenstein and Hulk’s granddad.

Eyes Wide Shut (1999)

The Card: Pairs then-husband-and-wife Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman for a steamy little moment.

Why It's So Cool : It whispers “sexy” without having to scream it. Shame the film didn’t quite manage that.

Casablanca (1942)

The Card: Charmingly old school ad for the WB classic.

Why It's So Cool: Bogie and Berg are effortlessly awesome. It’s like they knew this would become an A-grade hit.
